Hello,

Yes, I'm another new guy.
I'm hoping someone will take a leap of faith and allow me to buy 10 bitcoins from them. I understand the mistrust with paypal, but it's really the only option I know being a Canadian and a relatively boring individual. If there is a better method, and you're willing to help me out, I'd be greatful to hear your opinion.
I'm not a scammer, or someone who's looking at this as an opportunity to take advantage of all the excitement, just a guy who typically shows up to the party right after last call. I'm hoping to get in while the getting is still relatively good.
I will be fair with you if you're fair with me, this is my word, that's all I can give you at the moment.

tl;dr - trustworthy Canadian wants 10 of your bitcoins for $$.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. Hybrid server-assisted clients like Electrum get a lot of their network information from centralized servers, but they also check the server's results using blockchain header data. This is perhaps somewhat more secure than either server-assisted clients or header-only clients.
