I see a lot of negativity about the Ethereum. In my opinion, it all depends on devs. If they can deliver all that they have promised (and they have promised a lot, trust me) price will not only recover but increase 10 fold. You'll see. Because Ethereum has this great hype around it and people are just waiting to see is it all just a science fiction or will this really work.

If Ethereum devs can deliver like NXT devs are delivering, I am not afraid about Ethereum future. This is a huge difference between NXT and ETH, one has hype around it second has a scam oreol on its head.

NXT is an interesting story, because is also another proof that nothing can better pump a currency like hype, but yet is very hard to recover hype after it has gone bust.

NXT services also look promise specially with things like Denube Business network.

Wait a minute, which NXT hype are you talking about? NXT was always considered as a scam coin by most prominent bitcoiners (even though I don't agree with this). The only hype NXT had from its own group of people, its own community and some people in the side that saw some potential and invested just in case.

Ethereum on the other side has huge advantage in this area. 18 millions has been collected for God's sake. The bitcoiners are waiting to see what will happen and for majority this is not a scam coin. IBM and Adept are in. Nick Szabo is tweeting about it and mentioning it in the last episode of the Let's Talk Bitcoin show. He is even building some applications on the top of the Ethereum. Antonopoulos talks about it and so on and so forth.

There a is huge difference in hype in my opinion between these two platforms.

P.S. I am invested in both and I even think that these two platforms complement each other in a way!

I remember a lot of hype behind NXT at the time, sure they didnt crowdfund and crowdfunding hasn't been all that back then since there were lesser crypto companies. So just because Ethereal raise 18M doesnt make them more of a hype. NXT was one of the first crypto to talk about smartcontracts. So people were looking forward to it.

Andyou can see the chart and see now the NXT valuation spiked on the charts.

this can very well turn out to be like the browser wars once the dust settles and each platform gets the time to mature.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/ubs-reveals-its-interest-sidechains-well-ethereum-1519706

From the article, "We are not looking to create a UBS blockchain - we want to use open standards and we don't want to a UBS virtual currency," he reiterated.

"This is really to enable blockchain transactions, whatever the blockchain is - could be Ethereum, could be Bitcoin - we haven't finalised the design, we have just come up with the deployment if you will."

"We do at this point see a lot of value in multi-asset, smart contract-enabled platforms like Ethereum.

Batlin recently tweeted that coding up Ethereum was both nascent and fun.

"It's of course an experiment, but we found that we achieved a lot with this platform in a short amount of time.

Well looks like UBS certainly seems to like Ethereum. They also have a partnership with Clearmatics a company which has Vitalik Buterin as part of their team.No prizes for guessing which blockchain they would be pointing UBS towards.

THe price of ethereum has been pumped today from ~@380 to ~@410
And it is continuing, i was thinking to buy at ~392 but hesitate Sad
I think that it will take maybe few months to a year to be the price stable as for now is all about pump and dump.

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/rabobank-experiments-ethereum-via-smart-cash-wallet-1519910

"We are looking into Ethereum because it can save us so much work in programming all the interfaces and infrastructure ourselves."

Another bank looking at Ethereum, looks like current price may be a bargain. What many people who have not kept up with Ethereum fail to realize is that there will no longer be an endless supply of Ethers.Vitalik has indicated that there will probably be zero or even negative inflation after the move to Pos which will mean a total of about 90 million ethers.Even with a price move of 10x that will still be a 1/4 of bitcoins current total market cap.

This keeps getting better.

"Nine of world's biggest banks join to form blockchain partnership"

http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/09/15/us-banks-blockchain-idUSKCN0RF24M20150915

"Rutter said the initial focus would be to agree on an underlying architecture, but it had not yet been decided whether that would be underpinned by bitcoin's blockchain or another one, such as one being built by Ethereum, which offers more features than the original bitcoin technology."

Die hard bitcoiners would be mad not to hedge their bets.

Still the same as with other big coins. News sites report on a what is hot, because that attracts readers. But they won't report when hype fades and no new news is available.

Also, appearantly "thinking" about using cryptocurrencies, which "may" be ethereum is enough to pump? Crazy to me, for any coin basically.

The way I see it, I hope any crypto out there to make it in the outside world. ETH, Bitcoin, or some third one. Because when this happens, it will be much easier for all of the rest to do the same.

You can say what you want, but this news is very encouraging. For Bitcoin, for Ethereum and for all other cryptocurrencies. News like this just wasn't showing up as often last year.

Agree would be nice to see one of the cryptos making it big in the commercial world.

Something to ponder, to take a punt on 100 ethers ($90), you would need to invest $5,366 (BTC23)in Bitcoin to achieve the same percentage investment of the total final market cap. (100/90,000,000 and BTC23/21,000,000)

Disclosure: I'm a Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple holder amongst a couple of others.

I'm badly waiting for the end of this shitty bear market that keeps crypto so unprofitable the last 2 years.
But in the other hand the longer it takes, the more chance we have to get cheep coins.
I think, everything will raise further somewhen. I was already sure, that this would have happend last year, but seems like the market is waiting for something.
Ether is not so different, than other coins, but in my opinion it can be one of the leading coins in the long run.

I guess that Ethereum is the first of its kind and may be the substitute for Bitcoin. However, there are a lot of copycats coming in with extra new features that may overcome the Ethereum proposal.

I don't think Ethereum is a long term investment. Before im thinking Ethereum will have a higher price but when I remember Stellar and the ETH price is going down, Ah I think this alt will going to be like stellar, as well as CLAMS. Anyways thats only what Im thinking right now. Just my opinion.

all that i can say now for sure is that Ethereum had more hype around itself than it had real value. and in my opinion this is why we are seeing continues price decline and i predict that it is is going to continue being this way until it reaches a floor value or if we see any significant new changes in Ethereum.

All altcoins follow the same cycles and until the time crypto currencies are demanded by the masses this will continue, their time will come.

I've totally changed my mind since my last post. Thanks to the help of some mebers, I can now use Ethereum and the mining isn't as hard as I thought.
