of course it is true. but bitcoin is already so much easier than 2-3 years ago. pretty good & fast progress.
+1
It seems like we are at the stage of development when a user must still know something about how bitcoin works. The bar used to be higher and I think eventually you could use it whithout any real understanding. Kinda like how the internet developed.

Yes for the average person out there Bitcoin is still very complicate to understand and to use. The issue of using Bitcoin however will solved I believe. Understanding Bitcoin is a completely different topic.

Because it seems people need to know how Bitcoin works as in the technical aspect in order to use it or something, meanwhile they use banking and visas and whatnot and have no idea how the technicals work.
It sures needs improvement but it's pretty damn simple to use your smartphone to buy something these days thanks to QR codes.

All things could be complicated for a newbie, even bitcoin. But for now, there are many more people who have known about bitcoin, so it can be easier for a newbie to ask something he cant understand about bitcoin.

IMO, the confusion surrounding bitcoin isn't because of how it works or the technical details of it. Users can use bitcoin without knowing anything about the infrastructure just fine, just like how a majority of the people in this world use fiat without knowing how it works or how it's created. Heck, when I first got into bitcoin a few years ago, I created a wallet on Blockchain.info and started receiving BTC from faucets with zero cryptocurrency knowledge. I was 17 years old, and am pretty sure the majority of adults would be able to understand something that a 17 year old had no trouble getting started with.

I think the biggest confusion is that people don't understand how something can not have a central authority. When I tell people about bitcoin and they think it's interesting, they ask which company owns it or which single website they go to to "create an account" or which forms they need to fill out to get started. There's a lot of political confusion about what bitcoin is and why it's different. Decentralized systems confuse people because it's a relatively new concept.

Yes it could be complex, but so is the banks and getting a credit card. I mean I still briefly know what APR means. I just know that if I don't pay my card they will charge me.

Bitcoin is complicated? Yes, but it’s not rocket science either, the most difficult aspect of bitcoin is securing your coins.

How many people today knows how the inner workings of PayPal work or how central banks transfer money between each other, or where the Reserve banks fit into the bigger picture? And they still use the services

offered via these organizations. The payment processors in Bitcoin fit this same role to the users of Bitcoin. They do not need to know how it works.... it should just work.

We over complicate the matter, because most of us wants to know more about the technology.... other people just accept it, because it's a vehicle that enables a new way of doing something at a cheaper rate and

many other reasons.  Huh

The real problem is the security with Bitcoin.
All your money in a file in your computer? This isn't so secure for the common user.
Already happened and will happen again, people losing their HDDs and losing the wallets.
Bitcoin needs an easy way to educate the average joe.

I think they are a long way from making it easy because of Bitcoins heritage (in Linux). Until there is at least one permissive, standardised library in the vein of openssl, libssh2 and libtorrent you won't get adoption by developers that know how to write user friendly apps. You need application developers to create software in their favourite language and you need to bind to libraries for that (no, RPC is not good enough).

I think Linus Torvalds beautifully sums up the issue with all Linux software in general and Bitcoin is handicapped by this. Until you get the application developers involved, it will always be awkward for non-techies and to get them involved they need to be supplied with libraries that abstract away the really important hard stuff that probably 10 people truly understand.

no i think it isn't the only hard thing for many average people is security, ensure the safety of their bitcoin is more hard for them than using it

it's also the problem why many don't trust bitcoin yet
yes, you say is very true
beginners should learn in advance about bitcoin before you start using it

There are new users everyday in the learning phase will be extremely reluctant to experiment which is of course very helpful way to learn. IMO, people becoming paralyzed, afraid they will lose coins by accident and ultimately out of fear and frustration, to give up easily.

Some people can adopt easily if he/she passes through base on your experience to make someone understand that Bitcoin isn't really hard.
