I think the use of Bitcoin is not complicated, it even easier than using a Credit Card.
But you can't compare it with fiat money, because they are different. Bitcoin is Digital, while fiat money is Real.

Vinny Lingham said, in Consesus 2015, the following phrase:
" If you don't simplify the use of bitcoin, why would people want to use it as a currency?

What do you think about that, check the whole article in the following link:
http://www.coindesk.com/trust-law-enforcement-and-killer-apps-consensus-2015-morning-sessions/

Hmm I don't think so. Even my girl knows how to use bitcoins to buy things and stuff online even though she isn't that much familiar to it. What makes it complicated to look at is people who are already familiar with it try  to overcomplicate things by saying technical stuff and whatnot.

That's right, people are trying to make it complicated even tho Bitcoin it's actually easy.

Correct. I think it is time to reply to this thread. Essentially what the problem is, is that people are trying to understand what Bitcoin is but are failing to do so. I guess it is much harder to actually properly understand how and why Bitcoin works (mining, transactions, etc.) than using it. However, I think that for a consumer this isn't really important (aside from some basics like wallet security) due to the fact that they will never need such knowledge. Using Bitcoin today is much easier and faster than it was before (just finished buying a lot of products on Amazon with it).

Exactly people who hate bitcions are making it more complicated for others to use it by diverting their minds by spreading some nonsense things about bitcoins and some of them are getting carried away by those news, as of using bitcoins is very easy and simple and doesn't need any special skills to use it.

It is not necessary complicated if you have some technical know how around computers and who doesn't now a days? Even a 4 year old can operate a table and connect to the internet like it was nothing for them.
Wallets on smartphones have become simpler to use and less complicated because everything is touch screen and you just use the camera now to scan the QR code to send and receive bitcoins. How simplified is that.

Yup, my grandma can use email and she doesn't have to know about TCP/IP for that.
To use Bitcoin, you don't need to know what happens underneath. We may not have an app which takes Bitcoin to the masses right now, but we will get there.

I rly dont think its complicated to use Bitcoin at all.
Nowadays most ppls (below 40) should be able to use a Computer in a way which easily allowes the use Bitcoins
as payment method.
I'd rather have a bit more complicated way to pay things which is safe and decentralized, than having to use a Bank which does what it wants with your money.
If they lose it. They dont care.. u wont get anything from your money.

It's rather the opposite. When you use bitcoin, it's very easy to spend them because all you have to do is press a button. Once  you press that buttons it's gone. Given the number of bitcoin users, I think it proves my argument.

Good point. Simplicity will make the number of users grow over time.

I'm a UI Designer and while the tech itself is unique and innovative the way it was conceived for massive adoption it's just nonsense. No common people will bother to learn the decimal value system to begin with. It's completely unnatural.

Don't get me started on wallets, addresses as long as a line of code, keys, brain passwords, etc. Millions will be lost if people actually use Bitcoin. And many more will be lost in non refundable transactions. Xapo did a decent job in "dumbing it down", but it will take much more than that for your girlfriend or father to adopt it.

IMO, use of bitcoin is not complicate. This is somewhat like credit/debit card transaction. The only difficult i found even in bitcoin is its adoption. Yes, bitcoin needs more adoption with even more merchants.

Are you talking about payments being made in fraction of bitcoins? No problem - you can talk in terms of satoshis or millibitcoins, instead of bitcoins. Or if people find it really difficult, they can use dogecoin.  Grin

I think that Bitcoin is relatively easy to use, as it stands at the moment. I don't really see a way that they could make Bitcoin easier to use.

I think it is very easy to use Bitcoin easier than real money Cool

I wouldn't agree with that statement. As easy as Bitcoin is, I doubt it will ever be as easy as fiat.

The people that need Bitcoin will learn to use it.

Exactly. And that is a problem that Bitcoin needs to face. Bitcoin needs to start attracting more people so more people use it. Like you said, only the people that need Bitcoin will use it, we need everyone to use it. Every time I try tell my friends and family about Bitcoin they never seem to understand. Spreading the word of a new creation is how something becomes popular, so Bitcoin needs to be a bit easier.
