Public notice: it looks like some people are actually thinking about defaulting their loans (the loan isn't defaulted yet, but you did promise to pay me back sooner): i'll sell your account within 48 hours after it actually defaults... No way of getting it back after it's sold  |

Added an extra rule about the use of a central ledger... Quoting this post to prove the fact that the rule was in effect on the 30th of october 2015 This post is now used to add a little addendum to the rules... The reason for this list is that over the last couple of weeks/months, i ran into a lot of situations where borrowers wanted to use procedures i wasn't confortable with, so i decided to list the way i want to do business - I only do loans with sufficient collateral. This means the minimal RESELL value of the collateral should be at least 120% of the loan + the intrest. There are no exceptions for this collateral rule (not for people i've done business with in the past, neither for sr. or legendary or hero members)
- When using bitcointalk accounts as collateral, i NEED a signed message. The address used for signing should be posted in an unedited post that is at least 3 months old
- the signed message should clearly state that you (your accountname) are giving your account as collateral to altcoinhosting, and also today's date
- banned, negative trusted, newbie accounts or jr. member accounts are not considered as collateral (unless there's something really special about the account)
- you're free to get a first estimate over PM, but i do require you to post a formal request on this thread
- If you want to use an escrow, that's perfectly fine (as long as you pay the fee). Escrows from this list are auto-approved: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0 . If you wish to use a different escrow, you NEED to contact me BEFORE sending a request to the escrow. I will not use an escrow that's not in the trusted escrow list unless i pre-approved him/her
- Do not give me an account as collateral that was used to request a different loan, unless said loan is fully payed off
- Do not give me an account as collateral that has a high chance of being -ve'd in the future
- I do not accept stolen accounts as collateral
- I discourage following loans, but i will accept them in a case-by-case basis: secondary or tertiary loans, loans for the sole purpose of gambling, loans that are meanth to pay off other loans
- All open and defaulted loans with insufficient collateral will be listed in a public ledger, shared between several lenders
Since 90% of my borrowers seem to offer their account as collateral, i've listed the procedure in FULL detail... I might mention this procedure in PM's, since i will not deviate from any part of this procedure....- 1) you either contact me over PM or on this thread. In your post you mention the following things: the amount of BTC you need, the collateral you're offering, when you'll pay me back, your BTC addy
- 2) we agree on the terms, and make a deal. If you only PM'd me, you need to make a formal request on this thread
- 3) you provide me with a signed message from an address posted by you, in an unedited post at least 3 months old. The message should read "This is [insert your username], giving my account as collateral for a loan to altcoinhosting on [insert current date]"
- 4) you either send your account details to me, or to a trusted escrow (this should have been discussed in point 2)
- 5) i send you the BTC
- 6) you either pay me back and post the txid on this thread (and i or the escrow reset your password to the password you sent in point 4). If you don't pay me back on time, i will sell or keep your account (no refunds at this point)

How does account collateral work?
Accounts can be sold for BTC. Hence, they can be held as collateral. You would have to send your account info together with a signed message to the lender/escrow and it would be with the lender or escrow till you return the loan. If you default it, the account will be liquidated. That is if you are eligible for the loan in the first place. Usually, lenders accept from members+ for smaller loans. |
