This pertains to the cop at http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/ex-chicago-threatens-investigators-officer-death-article-1.2359379

Apparently, and I may be wrong, a cop committed suicide a few days ago and then a whole bunch of local and federal cops tried to manipulate facts to give the appearance that a murder had occurred. Resources were poured into the case far beyond what would be used for a "regular" murder.

The cop in the article above appears to have tried to expose the game but he stepped on all the cops, fbi agents etc who were trying to create the phony legend.

Should cops, fbi agents etc be allowed to create expensive fictions in order to paint themselves as heroes?

Is the cop who tried to expose the game harming the reputation of law enforcers by exposing their lies? If so what does that make him?

It's not clear what happened and my speculation might be wrong. There are obviously conflicting reports including http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/09/10/lt-charles-joseph-gliniewicz-shot-twice-report-says/

First reports said "He had been stripped of his gun and other gear" http://heavy.com/news/2015/09/charles-gliniewicz-fox-lake-illinois-police-officer-lieutenant-dead-killed-shot-shooting-veteran-age-family-wife-funeral-memorial-photos-suspects-manhunt/

Later the same article referred to was changed to say "His gun was found near him" http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/lake-county-news-sun/news/ct-fox-lake-school-lockdown-20150901-story.html

-

note, this follows an event a week or two ago when someone supposedly shot at a police cruiser in Mass and caused it to crash
The first report http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/gunman-large-after-cop-car-fired-near-boston-n420521

The last http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/03/us/massachusetts-police-cruiser-shot/index.html

Neither.  Based on available fact we don't know what happened yet.

I'd have to disagree that a disproportionate amount of forces were applied to find 3 armed fugitives who had just killed a cop and were currently on the loose in a densely populated area.

Given that assumption, this was/is a potentially extremely dangerous situation which would obviate the use of any/all resources to locate these people.  Given that I live in the area I have no problems with throwing the kitchen sink at it, as I didn't want those fuckers crawling through my bedroom window.

If it was suicide the forensics will show it.  hard to shoot yourself without leaving evidence of that, as there's no-one to clean up.

I also recently lost a friend who was a cop and killed himself sitting in his cruiser.  There was no cover-up, no massive manhunt, or anything of the sort.

My feeling is that this suicide theory is a conspiracy-type thing.

ETA:  After reading the article it seems likely this ex-cop is a nutter, as least as far as I can tell based on his actions.

Maybe you're right. We'll see. http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20150916/news/150919109/

"The son of Fox Lake police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz threw his full support behind Lake County investigators and their two-week effort to catch three suspects sought in the veteran police officer's shooting death, but he says emphatically that his dad didn't die at his own hand.

"My father never once had a single suicidal thought in his life," Donald "D.J." Gliniewicz said Tuesday.

The younger Gliniewicz said his family is upset over questions raised by Lake County Coroner Dr. Thomas Rudd about whether "Joe" Gliniewicz died from anything other than a homicide, and the unauthorized release of information in the case.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/09/16/authorities-investigating-possibility-suicide-in-shooting-death-ill-police/

"Fox News first reported last week that two sources close to the case say evidence suggests that Gliniewicz, 52, a 30-year veteran of the Fox Lake, Ill. police force, could have shot himself, despite the original characterization of his death as an execution-style murder by police. Authorities say that while they continue to actively investigate the case as a homicide, they say they aren't ruling out suicide."

"Sources tell Fox News two shell casings were found about 100 feet apart from each other near Gliniewicz’s body, which was discovered face down. His hand was in a gun position, the firearm “dropped at his body.”"

-

http://fox6now.com/2015/09/06/its-been-very-tough-family-members-friends-strangers-prepare-to-say-goodbye-to-lt-joe-gliniewicz/

"Gliniewicz was on his way to work Tuesday morning, in the cruiser that he had taken home the day before, when he saw three suspicious people.

The lieutenant made the first call at 7:52 a.m. and called three minutes later to request backup. The backup units arrived at 8:01 and found their fellow officer dead, roughly 50 yards from his vehicle, at 8:09."

-

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/09/16/that-illinois-cop-killing-sparked-outrage-and-a-tears-but-was-it-a-suicide/

"Citing multiple unnamed individuals, the Chicago Tribune reported that detectives are now determining whether Gliniewicz shot himself. Fox News reported similar information, citing “a source who is a member of the task force” investigating the killing."

"Despite the massive manhunt, however, authorities never caught a trace of the three men — two white, one black — Gliniewicz mentioned moments before his death. Stranger still, the three men have been downgraded since then to mere “persons of interest,” instead of suspects, although officials won’t say what evidence prompted the change."

"Finally, there are Tuesday’s media reports, which appear to back Battaglia’s claims by suggesting that Gliniewicz killed himself and staged the suicide to look like a murder."

-

http://www.everyjoe.com/2015/09/16/news/did-illinois-cop-gliniewicz-kill-himself/

"While the police continues to treat Gliniewicz’s death as a homicide, sources close to the matter have alleged that the veteran officer killed himself."

So because of family reasons he grabbed his double-barrel shotgun and shot himself in the back three times. Well, that something desperate people used to do, indeed...

oh bruddah.  the plot thickens.

"An Illinois police officer whose September shooting death led to a massive manhunt committed suicide due to personal and professional pressures, investigators announced during a Wednesday morning news conference.

Fox Lake Police Lt. Charles Joseph "Joe" Gliniewicz was stealing and laundering money from the Fox Lake Police Explorer's program and committed suicide due to the "personal stress from scrutiny of his management," Lake County Major Crimes Task Force Commander George Filenko said.

"Gliniewicz's death was a carefully staged suicide," said Filenko, who added that the officer had "significant experience staging mock crime scenes."

Filenko said the investigation "strongly indicates criminal activity on the part of at least two other individuals," though those charges weren't more fully explained."

So who are we supposed to be voting for as a hero or traitor? The cop who died? The cop who threatened people in the NY Daily article?

Either way, your interpretation of what was stated int he NY Daily News article is wrong.  No where in the article does it say that the  cop who was threatening people  was trying  to  "expose the game". It just said he was threatening  people to  make them rule the death a suicide.

Ruling it a suicide would hurt the family, they'd  lose any insurance money due to them.  I wonder if this plays a part in  the  issue.

How can a cop that tells the truth about the system be called a traitor? Your work colleagues are not bound to be loyal to you and you don't have to turn a blind eye on their actions.

In our country cops accused violence and criminals protect human rights. That is why, for me as a good citizen hero is our cops who protect the integrity in our republic. How I wish that someday the yellow bleeding hearts in our country admits there mistake from the past of what they are fighting for because they are greedy when it comes to money. Money is there god so they are the traitor in our country oligarchs is the one who make as sick 30 years ago. Hero is our cops and Traitor is the oligarchs. Destroy the Oligarchs.
