Bitcoin and the blockchain have shown the potential to usher an economic and social revolution. Those of us who live and breath cryptocurrencies have no doubt they will fulfill this potential and transform the prevailing financial and social structures. However, a number of factors still prevent mass adoption:  

1. Most people outside the bitcoin community are still unclear about how digital currencies can have a strong positive impact on their own lives and on their community; 2. There aren’t a lot of places where you can use digital currency to easily buy or sell real world, tangible goods; 3. Most people outside the bitcoin community still face technical obstacles when trying to move from fiat to digital currency.

What is Kindcoin?

Kindcoin is a 2nd generation cryptocurrency powered by Counterparty and the first SPOW coin (Social Proof of Work). Since Kindcoin is built on top of Bitcoin you do not mine for Kindcoins by applying computational proof of work. Instead you ‘mine’ Kindcoins by supporting causes.

You can easily spend, store or transfer Kindcoins to other people. Use your Kindcoins on rewards at Kindshack.com, pledge them, or trade them.

All pledges to causes are made in a decentralized manner – we are not personally connected to the causes you choose to give to, and do not have any access to the funds you pledge.

How does it work?

1. Go to counterwallet.io and click on 'create new wallet'.

2. Select a cause from the list and pledge your chosen amount (specific details will be given prior to launch).

3. That's it, Kindcoins will soon be sent to your counterwallet.io address!


A total of 21,000,000 Kindcoins will be distributed. Phase one will distribute up to 1.6M Kindcoins (any coins not distributed at the end of each phase will be destroyed, reducing total supply).
In phase 1 of the distribution, for each $1 you pledge you’ll receive 64 Kindcoins. Rewards will be halved in phase 2 (so 32 Kindcoins are earned for each $1).  
Rewards will be reduced after every phase in accordance with a schedule published below.

Kindcoin is powered by Counterparty, which is built on top of Bitcoin blockchain so there is no 'extra' mining needed to protect the blockchain.

There is no ICO/IPO, you do not purchase coins from us, you earn it by supporting causes (we do not have access to the funds you pledge).

Currency supply: 21 million Kindcoins is the total supply in the GENESIS BLOCK. They will be distributed in 10 phases over a period of 3 years: phases 1-9 will distribute up to 9.8M coins (any coins not distributed will be destroyed).  Phase 10 will distribute an additional 9.8 million coins using a uniform supply auction (all funds raised in all phases, including phase 10, will be pledged directly to causes). 1.4M Kindcoins reserved for giving away rewards on Kindshack, development and operation costs, and transaction fees.

Distribution schedule: in the first reward phase 64 coins will be released for each $1 pledged. Up to 1.6M Kindcoins will be distributed in this phase, which will last for 14 days. Any coins allocated but not distributed will be destroyed. In the next phase, 32 Kindcoins will be released for each $1 pledged. Rewards will be halved in each subsequent phase.

Kindcoin is powered by Counterparty and secured by the Bitcoin Blockchain, so there is no mining.

There is no ICO either. An ICO involves buying the coins from the developer (or from an intermediary who then pays the developer), but that is not how Kindcoin works- we do not sell you the coins or receive any payment for them. Instead you earn Kindcoins is by verifiably pledging to a cause. This not only means that every Kindcoin in existence involves doing a social good, it also helps to ensure that, going forward, the Kindcoins you own have real monetary value.
