There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I'm trying to invest in both of your plans but the stupid site keeps coming up with "Amount can't be greater than what's left" or some such nonsensical error. I haven't the foggiest why but I'm guessing there's a bug with the site somewhere?

this bug is new to me. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. I do not plan on activating the loan until it is 100% funded. Thank you for being interested though! Smiley I'm excited already to have strangers willing to back up the new possible great ideas!

Thank you Sega01 your my first contributor =D My ID verification went through but my address one still hasnt. Still an improvement. I believe from reading the forums and seeing his name on my comments for my listing that Tulkas is the founder of the site so I am sure that if you cant figure out your errors you could probably message him and get assistance.

For those of you interested I.do have another btcjam listing. This one is not as important right now, but maybe it will be funded by next month. https://btcjam.com/listings/122
again I say this one doesn't really matter, I will not be activating for awhile, even if it is funded.

BTW gretchen congrats on your first investment.

p.s. to every newbie: keep in mind, never request a loan amount for more then what you are able to pay back! These investors worked hard to get what they have to help us. If ppl screw them, it screws the rest of us. Would you invest in anyone if others didn't pay you back?

Yes, and I waited for the funds to be confirmed as well. So I have no idea what gave.

Strange. I would send Tulkas a PM and I am sure it wouldnt hurt to track the transaction if possible and see if it did make it to them.

Thank you guys, got another investment.

Glad to be of assistance, fornak8.

For any other newcomers looking to get loans on BTCjam there are a few things worth considering;

It is a fairly new site, so people want to try it out with small amounts first and limit their exposure to individuals. That means small loans are more likely to get funded.

Very high interest rates are a red flag; if you are not going to pay anything back, the interest rate you are offering doesn't matter.

Anything you can add in the way of id verification gives confidence to lenders.

The old cliche about banks holds true, you only really want to lend money to people who don't need it.

"Remember too on every occasion which leads you to vexation to apply this principle: not that this is a misfortune, but that to bear it nobly is good fortune." - Marcus Aurelius
