Have you tried to installed a more silent fan on your Antminer? Which fan did you install?

Here's why I ask:
This fall I expect Antminer S1s no longer to be profitable. Then I will make heaters out of them. In my country lots of people heat with electricity and one kWh costs 0.13 EUR.

A 400W heater uses 0.4*0.13*24*30 = 37 EUR of electricity if turned on 24/7 for one month. Say the miner generates 30 EUR/month worth of BTC. Then it should be pretty easy to sell the miner for 90 EUR (saves back in three months).

But it must run silently for this purpose (maybe a fan is not sufficient - maybe needs to be underclocked too?).

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

You can try 2x Cougar Vortex connected directly to PSU so they work at 100%. They are silent and they keep the miner at 49-50 degrees in normal room temperature. If they keep the unit cool you can connect 1 cooler directly to the miner. Or both.

If you undervolt /underclock you will generate way less heat.

Also noctua fans have great performances with low noise (especially if the ant is not very hot)
