Do you think the current migrant crisis in Europe has anything to do with bitcoin?  Do you think the migrants are thinking that they can earn more btc in Germany vs. Greece vs. Turkey?  Is there a way to donate btc to the migrants?

I speculate that a lot of these migrants are for bitcoins (economics), not refugees from war.

I agree with this its amazing how many "connected" people have no idea what BTC is heck most Americans i talk to about coins think its illegal because of some news broadcast a few years ago.

I think they will trust in Euro's most likely and not BTC.  I would agree most chances are have not heard of it.  I just don't see them having an easy time trusting digital money.

Broadcast is kinda a different story. But yes sadly many stories that contain bitcoin mention something illegal.  It was really silkroad that brought it into media's eyes.    I do see it getting better, but it's a slow process to advocate BTC.

So are you inferring "something illegal" :

btc - silkroad - illegal
Middle East refugees - asylum seekers -economic migrants - illegal immigrants

I'm saying silkroad gave BTC a bad name in some media.   Not saying anything about immigrants being illegal that is far out of my expertise.

But the good thing is the media seems to have more positive on some reports.  I hope bitcoin grows and get's more press, hopefully good press.

I think lack of info structure and moving around these people would be better off with fiat like euros.  BTC would be a secondary source for them.  Don't see it as a main source to carry your lifes wealth as migrant.
