So I figured I would ask you all deal with heat and our rigs just running and running.  I have noticed that my video car is runnig a bit hot and I was thinking that the paste may be not as effective as the first application.  Now I will admit that I have never needed to replace paste once if is first applied so I am asking if it is a resonable fix to reapply the paste or a waste of time?  The card seems to be running fine it is just that once and while it will get a bit hot and then shut down.

Any ideas to help would be welcomed,

Yeah, it's reasonable.  It helped a couple of my cards.  Although I used arctic silver 5, which i believe is for cpu's.

Use some rubbing alcohol and clean off the surface of the heatsink and the gpu.  Reapply sparingly and remount the heatsink.  There's tons of approaches on this, so just search. Smiley
