EAH5850 users?

Hello,
I got a new EAH5850 this week and i'm playing with it. No matter what i do (overvolt, underclock memory, overclock memory, undervolt, etc) i never get an stable system past 850mhz, i've read some reviews of this card and they can overclock this baby over 1ghz, but i'm stuck on 850mhz
I bought a new PSU to feed this card, 750w modular, so I don't think that is a power problem.
I tried Asus doctor, MSI afterburner, trixx, aticonfig (ubuntu), and in all of cases i end rebooting the machine.

I'm getting 330mhash/s, 850/300, stock volts, phoenix + phatk + windows xp + sdk 2.4.

Any advise to get more juice with this card?

make sure you're setting the right flags in pheonix.

5850's do better with SDK 2.1 and -k poclbm. 300MH/s @ 850 is a pretty good speed.

5850 are overclocking beasts but they can't all be perfect.

I have an EAH5850 doing 934 Mhz at 1.199 volts.  I haven't done an extensive amount of tweaking on it, so higher clocks and slightly lower voltage might be possible.  I do wish it clocked as high as my other cards though :/  I won't be purchasing any more because the voltage registers can't be modified by RBE, which limits what I can do with them in Linux.

I have a few 5850 however since it's EOL product it's getting scarce pretty soon. Would you guys recommend I get 5870 or 5830 (or 6-series), could you add justification in terms of Power consumption, best bang for buck (price/mhash), stability (i don't have alternate cooling system, and only does normal overclocking with AMDOverdriveCtrl or ATIconfig), Re-Sale value, re-usable value (SC-II Ultra? L4D2?).

I think the absolute best bang for the buck were those Sapphire 5850s on Newegg for $150.. ahh those were the days.  Mine clock at 990 Mhz with overvolting.  I think they've dried up everywhere now, as I haven't been able to find them on the Internet.  But if you find any at a decent price, don't forget to send me a PM with the URL

Yes, exactly what you meant. I've been talking to local distributors and now communicating with tw to see if I could still get my hands on somemore 5850. But I'd like to find out if 5870, 5830, 6870 or what's the next best thing I could be getting if I'm not going to be providing alternate cooling.

i've got 3x EAH5850 (it's Asus),
all clocked at 900MHz at stock voltage, getting a steady 350Mhash/s with plain poclbm on SDK2.2
