Fast note Setting custom fan speed to 40% and the mufflers get really good results.

the fans speed at 3000 on 40% setting
temps are stable
and with mufflers in place db readings are good.

See if you can make it sound as low as an S3 and I might buy one.

How low did you get the dB with the mufflers?

62 db but a very good pitch

I can do lower
since temps are 54 with fan dropped to 40%

I also have not fully finished the sound proofing.

Next step is set fans to 35%

I moved my fans from my miner after I water cooled it.
I can hide it in my dorm and let it mine quietly and my room-mates have absolutely no idea it's been hiding there!
Trying to sound proof it with the fans connected is an admirable task.

Hi there, I'm from South Africa.

Any idea why they don't sell these "duct mufflers" at Home Depot?

taken while standing in the bedroom door

money shot 53db standing in the bedroom door
this is good enough for me.  I am sure I can go under 50db but I do not need to do that.

I did rhe same thing with a out side gas Generator sense it was to load to use were i live unless the power went out still do from time to time to save in the cost of Electricity but it really make no sense now to do because of the cost of gas it is cheaper using Electricity at one time it wasn't thu .

but nice you can do it with a S7 and keep the temps cool enough to run it at stock speed Smiley .

would like to claim a small partial ownership for the muffler idea (no royalty needed  Smiley :

Phil: did you have to order 10" or it fit into a 8" enclosure? thanks
10" is a bit steep ($120), but 8" might be ok if it works ($80)

six inch is good with the rubber and  the bike clamps.

but 8 inch will just fit easy.

Since I had the bike clamps and the rubber I purchased the 6 inch mufflers.

the bitmaintech fans are about 6.75 inches on a diagonal so a 7 inch round hole works.

don't knock the importance of the rubber and the bike clamp as that decouples the miner from the muffler.  My Hot air heat duct for my home has a rubber joint   about 1 foot from the furnace it acts as a sound deadener.  It is antoher reason why I used rubber and the bike clamps.

each muffler takes 4-6 db off  so instead of 58 it would be 66-70db at ⅔ meter

yes, it is better this way. i wonder what would happen if the miner is fully IN the muffler...maybe less of effect in comparison with what you've got.
53-54 dB is fantastic!

So is your "all in" price about $200 to "muffle" one S7? Have you down clocked in any way, or is it running at stock speed from the factory?
