My GPU is running super hot (85+ Celsius)
Anything I can do to keep it cool, it's an NVidia GeForce GTX 465 (I got it for Gaming way before i started mining)
I could definaty make the airflow better, right now cables are everywhere.

How bad is it that its this hot?

Alright, ill try and get my cables more organized, won't be using this for mining too much longer anyway though, getting a few xilinx FPGAs (Virtex-6 not those cheap spartans xD )

Depending on what you're willing to do:

1. point additional spot cooler fans at the card, with something like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835209044

or even some regular case fans if you have any spares.

2. re-apply thermal paste

3. replace existing fan, either with same type or aftermarket cooler:

90c is where solder gets brittle and graphics cards get broken..

.. so try and stay below 80 if you can.

Cleaning up the cables is a good start, if you don't have dedicated cable storage areas use cable ties.

Make sure you have a fan blowing in at the front and one blowing out at the back to pass air through the case.

nVidia's are not very good for mining with, if you have a friend with a decent Ati card see if they will swap Grin

My case has 4 fans in it, and I am working on getting a better setup (getting some Xilinx fpgas)
just redid the wiring a bit, lets see if that works xD

I try and keep my card's under 70C, ESP for 24/7 mining. I've been able to undervolt my 7970, and my core temps are usually < 60C. At 85+, I wonder what your VRM temps are like, and you're just asking to kill your card.

Tips? 1crazy8pMqgwJ7tX7ZPZmyPwFbc6xZKM9
