T-Mobile in Poland seems to accept Bitcoin too. And there are many services allowing to recharge your phone with Bitcoin, but that probably doesn't fit what you're looking for.

there won't be many such operators out there that accept bitcoins... though there are sites like Bitpay... don't personally think that mobile operators would be accepting bitcoins anytime soon as the values goes up and down all the time... the cost would have to be readjusted all the time according to cost conversions...

This is a neat idea, being able to order a sim card shipped to buyer and pay with bitcoin. This could take care of the phone verifications sometimes when you register for accounts.

And not just that, but they were giving a 20% off if you were paying with bitcoins. At least that's what I last heard off. I don't know have they changed this offer since, but that was one hell of an offer.

Is there somehow you can use gift cards on gyft to accomplish this, either through gyft or through a gift card they offer?

A quick search revealed this little gem for people in Africa --> https://bitx.co/blog/buy-airtime-with-your-bitcoin/ It seems as though a Bitcoin exchange partnered with a mobile phone operator company to buy airtime for mobile phones. The OP did not say where he lived, so I posted it for the sake of everyone living in the African regions. I am glad to see some positive innovation coming from that part of the world.

There is no in the area that I stay. I think we might need to wait for another 5-10 years before this happens, but I am quite confident this will happen.

In my country there are sites like crypto de change where you can buy top up vouchers for bitcoin but no operators that accept bitcoin directly as far as I'm aware. Check em out here https://www.cryptodechange.com/mobile/

That would be absolutely great. At least I would be charging my mobile with Bitcoin. Let's hope that this can happen as soon as its possible.
