1) Get a bitcoin client. The original client is available at bitcoin.org. (There are also others: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Category:Clients)
2) Start the client.
3) Somewhere in the client there will be a place where it gives you a receiving address. Use that to receive your deepbit BTC. If you're using the original client, a receiving address is prominently displayed on the first screen.

I'm using this client called GUIMiner

Is there a special tab I need to view?

GUIMiner is for mining only you need a separate program for sending and receiving bitcoins. You can find the standard client at bitcoin.org

Once you install the client it will take a while to download the block chain (transaction history) from other users once that is done you can start sending bitcoins. You will be able to receive bitcoins as soon as you have an address but you won't be able to see them in the software till you finish downloading the block chain. ATM the block chain is 128592 blocks long. This is displayed in the bottom right of the software.

FYI, you can also download most of the blockchain from source forge here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/blockchain/

You want the bitcoin_blockchain_120000.zip file. Check the README for instructions on how to get it set up.

You do not need to do this to use Bitcoin. Doing this will only speed up the initial startup time because downloading the block chain from source forge will probably be faster than downloading it from the network.

I actually had bitcoin client running for more than 12000 blocks, I just copied my address to clipboard and pasted it on deepbit, am I done or is there anything else I should know?

Once you receive some bitcoins you should make sure you have your wallet.dat file backed up, preferably encrypted.

It can be found

C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Application data\BitCoin (XP)

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\BitCoin (Vista and 7)

The wallet.dat file contains the information necessary to spend your bitcoins.
