Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Withdraw that and buy them at a exchange. Easiest way, unless you try to scam.

I don't even play poker...I think I'd always have to get my cash first anyway, if I was going to deal with anyone, let's be wise eh... Cool

How many people actually trade bitcoins on this forum for cash lets say. Surely a bank transfer is a safer alternative

Are pokerstars player to player $ transfers reversible?

If the origin of the $500 turns out to be fraudulent (e.g. stolen credit card) then Poker Stars will take the $500 away from you. There are poker forums where players trade funds, and muchlike -OTC the transactions are traded on reputation. I'd advise caution here, especially if the OP has no reputation anywhere.
