If you purchase a computer from them be aware they secretly tack on a $119 charge for "Onsite/In-Home Service After Remote Diagnosis, 1 Year"

You should not have to pay for something beforehand that you likely won't use. I'll pay them afterwards if someone comes to diagnose my PC in-home. They will say they can't remove this because its part of the warranty, they're lying. If you look in the invoice with the itemized list, you see otherwise.

Personally, I feel this is extremely unethical on Dell's part. If you buy a computer, don't let them take advantage of you. Refuse to pay this if you don't want this. I had my card company call Dell for me, and they added me in the conversation as a conference call. I did not have to file a chargeback, Dell agreed to credit me for $119

That is interesting. I just checked my invoice for a dell bought a year ago.  No charge was itemized under the warranty or service plan but it does show 4 codes.  Basically, the invoice just shows the package price with everything itemized with code #.  If I was charged the fee it was hidden in the price.

The dell was my first brand name desktop and I can't say enough good things about it. All my custom builds had issues. Sometimes you just get tired of screwing around with stuff.

I agree, most of their products are made with quality. My Dimension 2400 from 2004 still works without any issues whatsoever. Although nowadays my desktops are custom built, I just wanted an Alienware laptop.

I'm not knocking Dell for their quality, I'm just upset about that BS charge they sneak on there.

I have to agree with chanlance, Dell computers and laptops are pretty good. I still prefer Medion, but Dell would probably be my second choice.

Apparently a lot of people because they're the third largest computer manufacturer. I build my own desktops, but as you know it isn't realistic to create a custom built laptop.

Dell desktops I have always found them reliable expensive for the sum of the parts but well built.

Acer - overheated and blew up when transferring to many files to an external drive
Lenovo - had a nice Nvidia card but screen gave out
Lenovo - thought trust them again after 2 weeks black screen wouldn't boot returned and they replaced hard drive everything works fine now and plays GTA V
Dell - Spilt Ice Lime water with sugar all over the laptop. Took it apart to dry rebuilt it works as good as normal.

These are all Laptops and my Lenovo is the one I love best screen but was a pain in the ass for the first few weeks.

Dell Also Accept bitcoin!
That would be almost 0.5 extra bitcoin, just for a service (you probably won't use!)

Dell Also Accept bitcoin!

I would have paid with Bitcoin but unfortunately spending bitcoin doesn't give me air miles (at least not yet  Wink )

What I should have done is purchased this laptop last summer https://twitter.com/Alienware/status/492351443899138048
