I liked the idea alot at first. I tought, Great, I'd be pirating movies and then i"ll be doing as you said above. Then I thought, wait, who would send a few dollars to people who are doing beneficial to society things, but are not as known and loved as musicians or film directors?

You could send the thankyou not to the musicians and directors, but tell them you sent the dollars to the people you think who should be appreciated for what they have been doing for society..
