In other term escrow help us to avoid scam on trading. also escrow is a person. By dealing in one another and you don't have trust to each other. you need a trusted person to deal it right. and the person is the escrow both of you will send your coins or any other things to him and as per the deal escrow will manage the funds. but they prefer a higher rank like legendary or hero member.

Ok i am going to explain it very simply so you can understand it easily.
Suppose there is a person A and person B.
Person A wants to buy something from Person B for bitcoins..But Person A doesn't trust Person B (probably Person A thinks Person B can run away with his bitcoins)..Also may be Person B doesn't trust Person A either..In any case they can't make a deal themselves (due to lack of trust) so they contact a third Person say,Person C..Now Person C is the oldest And Trusted person on which Majority trusts..So Person A sends the bitcoins to Person C then Person C confirms to Person B that he has send him the coins,Then Person B complete the rest of the deal and then Person C forwards the cojns to Person B..Here Person C is Escrow..Thus Escrow Helps prevents scam.. escrow is very useful when we transact with strangers
by using a third party that has better credibility
