Ok, I've managed to get my PCs to mine, and to get my Macs to mine when running Windows 7 on the Macs, but I have not been able to figure out how to mine in OS X.

Can someone here please give me a link to Mac software that works for you, and how to set it up? Please explain as if you were talking to a clueless newb, which is close to what I am here. Smiley I am using Slush's Pool so if you can make it specific to that pool it would be great.

Thanks!!!

The only thing I have gotten to work with any satisfaction is BitMinter.  I was totally new and it worked great.  Of course, I could only mine .0005 BTC per day, so it wound up not being worth it, but it was still cool as a newbie to be mining!  You'll also mine Namecoins at the same time, which is interesting.

Good Luck!

Your only option is java based miner @ bitminter. Some folks used cgminer on macs with AMD GPUs but its not worth your time going through all that hassle - and its currently not supported.

Get another PC or stand in line for ASIC  Shocked

I've had success with Bitminter, CGMiner and BFGMiner.  It helps if you are familiar with building from source, and just install Mac Ports for the dependencies needed.

**EDIT**

Forgot to add, you'll need XCode as well.

I realize none of the mining I am doing is worth mining from an economic point of view. For now I'm just learning the various aspects of mining and what can be done (and can't be done) with different computers.

Thanks for the tips. I'll give them a try an report back the results.

Depends on your hashrate.

Punch in your hashrate here and you should get a good idea.
