Quote
Hamburg has become the first German city to pass a law allowing the seizure of empty commercial properties in order to house migrants.

The massive influx of migrants has put pressure on city authorities to find accommodation. Some migrants are sleeping rough outdoors.

Hamburg's law takes effect next week.In a new survey, by broadcaster ARD, 51% of people said the influx scared them. It suggests a four-year low in Chancellor Angela Merkel's popularity.

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

Welcome in EU, who flies from ISIS  Grin

Less than 20% of the migrants are from Syria. Most of them are economic refugees from countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan, Ghana, Liberia.etc. And a significant part of these migrants are having their sympathies with ISIS and other radical Islamist groups. They will show their true colors once they are granted the German residence permits.

Only Syrian ones should be accepted. Not niggers or other scumbags that are not in life-danger. They're just economic migrants. Even the Syrians can wait or go in Turkey or Lebanon. They can also mess up everything in Israel  Grin !

Angela Merkel should be forced to give up her home instead. She created this problem so she should shoulder the responsibility instead of forcing ordinary Germans who had nothing to do with her foolish decision.

I will be having no problem if they go to Turkey or Lebanon. But the issue is that Lebanon is already full of them, and Turkey is no longer in a welcoming mood. The best solution would be to ship them to the GCC nations, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait. These nations are rich, and there is a lot of space for the migrants to live.

Totally agree with you. Everyday reading the news makes me more angry what this woman has started.
She is betraying her own folk.As a chancelor she has to work for the benefit of the german people. She never did that. Therefore she is pushing for TTIP and destabilization of the countries inner security.
Some german citizens already are forced to leave their apartments they lived in for 10+ years because the communities and cities have to quarter refugess there.
Guess how these people feel right now? They feel fooled. They got fooled. They have to search for a new home. And the options they got offered by the city costs more money than the old one. Got kicked out of the old apartment and have to pay more for the new one.
Merkel is destroying Germany and destabilizing Europe.

Thank you Denker, for your opinion. It is always nice to have someone from Germany, in the German-related threads.

My question is why her approval ratings are not declining, after doing all this? To be honest, it declined by 4 or 5 points, but I was expecting a much sharper drop. Also, why is the AfD support stuck at 6%? They seems to be the only major political party, which is against this migrant madness.  Angry

To be honest I'm not really believing these published numbers. Furthermore in another poll only 37% still believe Merkel is doing the right thing with all those refugees letting in. The majority believes and is scared that this could end in big desasters.
The other problem is there seems to be nobody who could take Merkel's position and correct the dilemma. All the big parties doesn't make any big difference in their agendas' anymore. It's a bit like they're melted together although now throwing with mud at each other just to safe their political asses because now they slowly realize and see the shift in public's opinion and feelings because of all this mess. This try of forcing a kind of welcoming culture did not worked out although mass streaming in TV and radio 24/7.
The AFD is pretty new in it's actual collocation of leading heads and won't be more than a choice of protest.
It's all a big big swamp.
I feel sorry for the refugees who really need help because they won't be recognized anymore between all these other ones who are just coming for social welfare.

This law is bound to needle people.
Although it applies only to vacant commercial property, and the owners will be adequately compensated, the state seizing property always creates heartburn. When it is for such a cause, there is bound to be resistance.
