How do you get a higher rank faster?

What if you have 1000 posts but you are only on bitcointalk for 3 months?
Would you have to wait longer to reach a hero or legendary rank? Or would you reach a hero or legendary rank based on time and posts, which is somewhat unfair.

You activity count only once in 2 weeks period. You can only get a max of 14 every two week period.

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every 30 minutes.

Just find random threads in the off-topic section/ topics that interest you most and reply on them.
You can only get 14 activity max per week though.
Be careful to to spam or post something meaningless like a short one-liner or you'll get banned or have something else bad happen to you.
