I know it´s not a very good idea to mine with a laptop, but I was wondering if there are some coins I could mine with my laptop.
Can you explain why?
Thanks

it is a bad idea... because laptops cooling systems aren't built to handle full cpu/gpu usage all day long and will likely be damaged  (ok may-be some new laptop from msi with external liquid cooling could work though... but probably a bit expensive considering what you want to do with it)

Don't even try bro. Your risking your laptops' life for such small profit. It requires electricity + the power of your laptop. You might burn it if you will stay on it wven for half day. Cheesy

Laptop mining is still possible, May be try www.minergate.com for laptop mining. But be careful with heat. And you should have some high end PC, at least you could earn some dusts

Not yet.

Quote
Can you explain why?

All existing PoW coins use mostly compute-bound PoWs, which puts 100% load on your cpu,
and is considered unhealthy for laptops.

When coins adopt a memory-bound PoW like Cuckoo Cycle that spend a majority of time waiting for memory latency, your cpu will keep running cool.

For details, see this article explaining there’s more to mining than hashing:

You can easily mine Burst coin from a laptop and not worry about heat generation.

I vaguely recall that 42Coin was designed for better payouts with lower hashes, and the difficulty went through the roof when more MH/s were poured on...

They've got two forks running side by side (and two competing wallets) and the OP hasn't been heard from in a while.

Really not worth it, I tried last year on some alts and it really isn't worth it.  You would be better renting a rig and joining a pool.

It depends on your Hard Drive space and you can also use an external drive.  I make about 0.0027250BTC a day with a 3TB external drive. Never had any HD problems.

Do not ever try mining on your laptop.

1. Laptops suck.
2. Just, no.

If you have a spare drive or free drive space yes. If you are going to buy a new drive just to mine BURST, probably not.
