The mess up had nothing to do with the escrow service.  All had to do with the scam accusations.  

Throwing the escrow service under the bus is not a good start in the takeover...

I agree completely.

I think perhaps the OP has just not writen the ANN to well, and needs to change it to reflect that the original escrow was honest etc and did nothing wrong, and make it clear that the original dev changed the escrow address in the ann to one that was not the escrow address.

Yes thats what I thought you meant, but as TB has pointed it out, the statement could be mis interpreted to read that the escrow was at fault perhaps a little shuffle with the wording is all that is needed
