Hi all
I've been trying to get started on bitmining, I'm using GUIminer but I can't seem to find the right OpenCL drivers for my card. I've tried all sorts of updates, roll backs and installs. Probably downloaded over a gig of Catalyst versions, SDK versions and such like, to no avail. Every time I try to install APP-SDK (AMD ATI software for OpenCL) I get told that:
"The display driver installed on this system does not have OpenCL support for AMD GPUs. If you continue you will still be able to run OpenCL on compatible x86 CPUs."
Indeed when I boot up GUIminer, my only option is my CPU and all I get is a lousy 1mh/s.
The crunch here is that according to the AMD ATI website my card supports OpenCL, and I've seen at least 1 post while searching these forums of some guy getting a respectable 400 odd MH/S from the same card as I'm running.
I'm running an old version of Catalyst (at the moment a modified 11.2) because my laptop: a HP Pavilion DV6 only has supported downloads for something ancient like 10.9... When you try to install the latest version of Catalyst it tells you that the hardware does not support this.
I'm in a real quandry here, it's as though everything in my otherwise modern and grunty laptop is conspiring against me getting into bitcoin mining.
Any suggestions/help would be much appreciated.
Cheers KJ
