Let's be honest. Gambling should only be considered for entertainment purposes only. If you are in need of quick cash, doing hard dirty work is more often than not better than hitting up the casino sites. I see way too many people in this section try to justify their gambling habits by saying they have strategies to always win. Others on this forum will go as far as to say that they are professional gamblers, and they always win. You're fooling no one and you look stupid.

All the gambling addicts I knew in real life who claimed to win from casinos all the time had serious mental issues. I went gambling with that guy once, and he ended up blaming me for him loosing at Pai Gow poker, a game that's 100% chance.

And just to let you guys know, ALL the casinos in my jurisdiction say the same things in public advertising campaigns. So far, my sig campaign manager has not PM'ed me telling me to quit bashing gambling. Nobody wins gambling, so lets stop pretending anyone here makes a living gambling online.

Signatures? How about learning a skill... I don't care either way. Everybody has to make a living somehow.

Everybody loses in gambling in the long run but some clever and successfull bettors can make their living from sport bets. It's like a profession. If you have great game plans and your discipline is at max, you can make a lot of money from betting. Don't mix your feelings when you bet.

Some people do not have that capacity. They end up borrowing/stealing money from their friends without telling them it's to go play poker. Some addicts destroy the lives of everyone around them, and I am I admit one of those people who may end up doing that. I won $3000 at a casino all at once one time and I thought it was a way to make money. Never hit that jackpot again since.

Gambling should be a hobby, something you do for fun. It's great when you win but you shouldn't gamble with amounts that you can't afford to lose. The only rule is to gamble responsibly & don't get yourself in financial trouble. Sounds easy right? It should be but some people struggle.

I guess it's like a drug for some people. Some people have addictive personalities & gambling becomes their vice. Far better to get a sex addiction or something Grin

Yes OP, exactly this! Everybody lose in the long run. Gamblers claim that they don't have a problem. They lie to themselves and to the others around them that they don't have a problem. They are doing the same thing as other addicts are doing. That's why gambling is called an addiction!

Also let's not forget that casinos set the rules. Even the sport bookies are setting the rules. We poor people are just playing by their rules. They can do whatever they want really!

I have won 7-1 sports bets on NFL that a way.

I completely agree with that, that teams and emotions should not mix.
If you are betting on your favorite team against a good team, you will lose.

You have to bet logically.

As I only bet 1-9 mBTC on something, so if I lose, I don't get bent out of shape.

I do agree with you, but I don't like the term, NEVER.  everything in this world is possible, we just either have not figured it out yet, or haven't done it.  It may not always be probable, but it is possible!

My problem is when people gamble money they loose then lie to others to get more money to gamble with. For some it's a bad habit. For others it's an enjoyable passtime

Did you just lose big on gambling dude?

Take a time for cooling down.

Gambling surely not for makes a living. I usually play poker with friends, either on real or on online. Just for fun only, although there is some people who too much spending time on it.

And btw, if i calculate all my earning's from gambling. I lose so much my precious time. Time is much more valuable than any money or currencies.

nicely put. this has been exactly how I feel about gambling and also what I have always said to others about gambling. but some people should learn some truths the hard way and have to lose a lot of money first to realize their mistaken ways.
if you look at topics here about how to invest bitcoin, or how to grow,... you can still see a lot of users suggesting gambling as a way of earning a profit.
you have to be realistic, there is a possibility of winning but also there is another possibility and that is losing and this should not be neglected ever.

Actually OP you are both right and wrong to some extent..
I would say responsible gambling is not bad,it's actually fun..Yes gambling may make you tense but if you do gamble in limit and don't think about making a lot of money gambling you would be fine..
Gambling is based on luck..No casino sites force you to gamble..they have probably fair system..If you learn how to control yourself and know when to withdraw you can be in profit in gamble but there is one rule that all of should remember to never gamble what we can't afford to lose and gamble for fun and for nerves Grin.

Poker can make you a living only if you are good at it and since it is a game based on strategy, experience and of course luck. I believe that there are still some people out there who make living with gambling or associated with gambling.

Don't hate the market, hate the people who are in the market. Gambling didn't force these people who lose to gamble, it's due to people's greediness and lack of self-control that's why they end up being losers.

Gambling site was built by the owner to give him the profit of money he has spent. Gambling isnt a charity foundation that give people free money anytime. Although there are some professional gamblers out there, the site owner surely will be always trying to beat all of them. Thats the fun side of gambling, where we could test our luck and skills combined against the house. Maybe you couldnt win everyday, but if you bet responsibly and patiently, you couldnt be disappointed so bad.
