thats true i used to think that it is possible to beat the casino but the house edge the games have usually does not allow players to win in long run

Agreed with you, these houses are designed in such a way that no one will win in the long run. People will keep loosing the money if they did not stop as there they can not win continuously, people win one game and then looses two or three game in a row and at the end they will be in a huge loss.

If you deposit at a gambling site then you should think what you deposit is already a lost that is why it will help to take some stress out if you really lose them all but if you make a little back then withdraw them and keep it safe until you decide to deposit it back to the site

This is a superb strategy.

Yes, if you have enough money and you can afford to loose some of them then this strategy can be work but make sure to withdraw the profit immediately. As per me its not possible to avoid the losses, there are wins and losses and its a part of gambling but in the long run people always loose their money.

gambling in casinos is just like the other gambling games and sites , there is no great difference i think , so you can win or lose depending in your luck and your strategy

This is how I approach gambling. I really only gamble on poker and sports betting, and I do it for the entertainment. If I win, that's awesome, and if I lose, I was simply paying for entertainment.

I also started doing parlay betting on NFL a lot recently. It's quite a cheap hobby, and just being right a fraction of the time yields insane profits.

yah see it as a form of entertainment. and to be honest, you can bet for as cheap as $0.02, where can you find such cheap betting in real world betting. but just dont overdo it. it is one of the cheapest way for entertainment. movies or gaming or drinking cost way more.

You're so right. For the most part. However, I do know of some people that make a profit from sports gambling. They research the  teams and spend a ton of time before making a wager

Not necessarily, how does using the strategy listed above "make you addicted to gambling"? I think that the strategy listed above is a good mindset to have while gambling, and will not "make you addicted"

I do agree that the house edge always gets you, now I'm not a gambler at all however in my early years I used to go to a local casino for half an hour and win around $15-30-50 a day. It was in an electronic type roulette. I swear I somehow learned a pattern where certain numbers kinda started to fall which eventually lead to me betting on number zero and win big.

The moral of the story is that, while I did this for a month or so and I was very disciplined (cashing out after I hit 0 or other number), one night I thought I was invincible and started playing BlackJack because I wanted more. I think I loss 30-40% of my winnings so far in that one night. So even if you somehow managed to get good in a game, a bad streak or a bad decision will take it all away eventually. The casino knows that when you win, you will come back to lose it all sooner or later.

I know what you are wondering, so why don't you just kept playing on the roulette? I did for a little why, but they eventually closed it and then later upgraded it for a new one. There was no pattern to learn on this one...  Cry

The most true words about gambling. A real story of everything I write in my posts about gambling since the first day I wrote about it. This post mus be read by everyone who gamble. Every word of this post is a precious lesson for every gambler. This story will be repeated always by everyone which will continue to gamble.

From above post:

The casino knows that when you win, you will come back to lose it all sooner or later.

This is the cruel true for every gambler. Gambling create addiction. The addiction create for sure loss of all the money. End of story.  Sad

But this strategy will not really useful if you lose and always keep it safe. Lets say that you dont withdraw them but stop for a while and then you will do the same as tmorow so you will safe the sending fee rather than put in and out your balance

Thanks, while my story is actually a happy one since it was not really an addiction at all (that's also scarier, imagine what could happen if that was the case) I completely agree that these concepts and messages should always be mentioned first. This is a forum with very intelligent people, geeks, developers, etc and we somehow still fall for this mind tricks, it doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I still think that some types of gambling are ok to do once in a while. For example when there is no house edge, a lottery once in a while or maybe sports betting or betting on something that isn't going to take all your money the longer you play. If you are good at poker or predicting sports or whatever then YOU have the edge. With that said, just have fun like I did and forget about it no matter if you win or lose.

yah, it is really very hard to stop. it is like when u r on a winning streak, you will believe you are and carry on playing. and when u lose a bit, you will bet more to win back cause u will believe you are winning, it is only when you lose quite a huge amount that you realise it is no longer and most of the time you end up losin becuz of that.

Exactly, even if you are ahead, what I did was very very rare, that is to walk out after you lose a portion of your small fortune. 99.9% of gamblers will try to cover the losses either in that night or start fresh another day (and eventually lose the remaining amount).

Well greed is the problem, having no self control. Casinos know this and they are playing on this card as well. Then they are setting up chances in their favour. Setting up sports betting odds as well. Yes, they are very good manipulators, simple as that.

Why do you think the most sports bookies offer a welcome bonus of $100, or 100 euros. They are very confident that you will give them all of this back and probably a bit more.

Yes greed is the first emotions which would break your determined mind set while doing gamble. Either in trading or in gambling people would get greed very much easily as a human nature. Emotion control is most important thing to make all the situations as a favorable situation to make sure our funds not get into losses.

i think when we consider that we gamble for fun and to play this game, and accepting the rule that we can lose our money this can make gambling more funny and less risky

Thats why people need to withdraw it when they win. Many people dont withdraw this and continue that is why if they lose it all then they are stressed with this. If you withdraw some and continue to play with small amount then this atleast will only give you a little stress if you lose it instead of lose all of it

Some strategies can work in theory, combined with depositing money that you don't care about if you lose and cashing out the minute you are ahead like others have mentioned. If you can do that AND remain emotionless about it AND play once in a while AND still manage to get some fun out of it (while being an emotionless robot) then go ahead and do it. I'll be the first in line to bet against you...
