OP, just as an aside, how did you ever get booted out of your sig campaign?  Your posts definitely seem constructive, though I know this thread is old. 

As far as the topic, I totally agree.  It's the statistics that are against you, and also the compulsive desire to gamble that eventually gets you.  Those two things will drive people to ruin.  I've seen it, and I know most people who've posted in this thread and others have seen it.  Christ, just look at the gambling section and notice all the people who whine about going bust.  It's no joke.  Do it for fun, but you have to limit yourself and don't cross the line into problem gambling.  Easier said than done, I know.

Gambling surely not for makes a living. I usually play poker with friends, either on real or on online. Just for fun only, although there is some people who too much spending time on it.

And btw, if i calculate all my earning's from gambling. I lose so much my precious time. Time is much more valuable than any money or currencies.

That is why it is not advisable to gamble regularly because the more you gamble the more your chances of losing is getting bigger. If you are a wise person you should treat gambling as just a form of entertainment and nothing more as the moment you go beyond that limit you will be risking your self to experience the negative outcome in gambling.

I agree with that, you should't be gambling regularly. And don't forget the more you gamble the higher the chance you will get addicted to gambling. It is really hard to control your emotions offer a long period of time. I would advise anybody against too much gambling, better save your money.

I think if people are a bit more educated about the math behind gamble and you can sort of try to get your head around it a little bit, then maybe peeps will be more cautious when gambling. One thing is for sure and that is that gamble can never be a quick fix for your financial problems.

Not all gamblers aim to make money in gambling because the rich people does not need the money to make them happy, so for them it is only wise to focus more on the entertainment to avoid the risk that gambling brought, and for the rich it is just wise for them to protect their wealth and not be addicted with gambling.

You lose in the long run if you don't follow some basic rules. Never play in games where house edge is present and you will have more chances of not losing in the long run. But by doing so you don't play slots which lower the chances of you winning a progressive jackpot there which can make you a winner in the long run.

I couldn't agree more. Everyone can be irresponsible sometimes so if you have a lot of money it's better to not gamble at all. I never really thought about gambling as something that you can often get profit out of. It is only something like fun and games with money involved. Winning is pretty much like an extra entertainment to me after all the fun I had while playing. And of course, I only play with the amount that I can bear to lose.

i think it mainly depends on the type of games that you choose to play. for example i believe that games like Poker can become profitable in time if you become an expert poker player or for example in sports or esports betting you can make good profit over time if you are really good at it and familiar with the games you make a bet on.
