How do we stop the growing conspiracy theory talk on this board?

Is anyone else annoyed with the wild claims and stories that have little fact or support that a few people have been posting on this board?

It takes away from the really good political conversations that exist here. It's such a waste of space and time. And a lot of times it's like spam there are so many threads.

Anyone with me?

Could you give an example of this conspiracy talk? Although I do have to agree that ThePrinceOfTea is making a lot of posts in here which is waste of space, but I dare not report the posts as they still are on topic.

I guess that is the society part of us humans.
P.S: The "Who do atheists hate god" thread has become a troll thread for sig spammers now

That's fair, let me see what examples I can dig up and post here. I just hope it doesn't bring more attention to the bullshit!

Conspiracy theories get stopped the second they're proven irrefutably incorrect. That is how you stop "conspiracy" talk, while encouraging open-information simultaneously.

It's the traffic that results that annoys me, not the fact that people believe in conspiracies.

Here are some examples. I'm providing the titles of the threads, not the links themselves because I don't want to contribute to the traffic to these threads:

  • Why do Islam hates people?
  • BREAKING NEWS: American Patriots Militia Groups taking down the Federal Reserve
  • Why the Illuminati killed Robin Williams Conspiracy EXPOSED
  • [Vote] Who did 911?
  • Elders of 13 inbred European Bloodlines house training their inbred children

And pretty much anything from Actor_Tom_Truong or toddtervy.

Just the fact that it took you so long to find these threads and that the threads are not in the first page proves how hollow your argument ,about the threads being popular and "blocking" the "good" threads from coming to public view, is. I do agree with the spam argument though, they take up a lot of unwanted space.

First, it took me all of 2 minutes to find these threads, I only had to scan 5 pages in.

Second, as I was scanning 5 pages in I realized that these conspiracy threads aren't really clogging up the board or hiding the better threads

Third, they'll always be a waste of space and they do tend to come in spam like frequency. I.d., when Actor_Tom posts his BS about the illuminati, it's usually three threads in a row!

Maybe the solution is to just jump on these people when they post their BS. If we shut them down quickly they may go back to Reddit...

Good point, but hey - who are YOU to tell people you don't like their threads?! Why don't you stop "spitting your dummy out about it!"

Relax man, I never said these members should be banned or something. I only said that I've had enough of the conspiracy theory threads and wanted to know if anyone agreed with me. You don't, you didn't need to respond. Thanks!

P.S. What the hell is a "plonker"?

I think this section is for people posting their opinions on hot-button issues, and it is inevitable that some of them get to you if you look hard enough.
