Hi,

I received a transaction in my wallet at 18:54 on 4th October but then received the below message from blockchain.info at 19:54 also on 4th October advising it failed, my question is will the transaction be re-sent perhaps by another node?
I am unable to get hold of the sender and my wallet is held with blockchain.info.

Transaction Confirmation Failed
A transaction made through Blockchain.info has been removed from our database because it was taking a long time to be included in a block.
Any funds have been returned to your wallet and you can now spend the coins again. Please consider including a larger fee in future transactions.

I am pretty sure this has to do something with the ongoing transaction malleability problem.

You will be the best of if you just contact the support. They will surely help you.

Sending a transaction with very low or no-fee's can cause the transaction not to be confirmed in meaningful time and then they delete it from the node.
Sender can re-broadcast the transaction tho, and also; the other nodes can process your transaction, but it is not guaranteed.
Sure hope u didn't trust an unconfirmed transaction..

Thanks for the information ajareselde, unfortunately support from the sender is non-existent at the moment, is it even possible to contact a node to request re-broadcast or can it be done from bitcoin wallet?
The amount in question is 0.049 and no i did not attempt spend it while it was unconfirmed Wink

Blockchain.info support response to my ticket,

If the transaction is rejected you will not see a return transaction of the funds to the sending address. This is because, if the transaction is rejected it is as though it was never created, so the outgoing funds will have never left the bitcoin address initially. Like all wallet providers, Blockchain.info has absolutely no control over the confirmation process, and cannot expedite transactions. This is always dependent upon the bitcoin network of miners, which we are not a part of. You will need to contact the sender to have funds resent, blockchain.info has no arbitrary control over users' bitcoin addresses.
