Why do we let people do this to us?

Because finding a legitimate investment is hard! In the fiat world, you can invest money, and it earns you interest forever, they don't go bust overnight. People are just trying to find a way to invest and earn some interest on their btc. But being unregulated, bitcoin seems to have a lot of scammers.

Saying that a currency is unregulated is fine in theory, but in reality it means that anyone can steal from you. It's probably what will stop bitcoin from ever becoming a really big deal.
I dont really think it's something related to bitcoins...there are a lot of hyips where people invest real money and they still lose them when the admin decide to stop paying.

When you invest in real, shits can also happen but it's less common because you get also less money.

Also none stole your money....you gave them to the admin and you were aware(or at least you should be aware) of the high risks in investments like this.

Also with coinbooster some people got a profit and other didnt.

That's correct and I agree, but we shouldn't be doing this. We're literally funding the next ponzis that will scam us later. But because the temptation of making 100% doubled is so big, we just have to give it a shot! (Myself included!)

And even though we, technically, voluntarily gave our money away to the admin it never clearly stated on the site that the admin was a total douche canoe.

Some day all these ponzi owners will, hopefully, be put behind bars. This admin never stole any of my money (I've seen what adenbtc and skybtc have done) but I sure as hell have seen others invest hundreds of dollars in this just to see it flow into the banks of rich scammers ready to start up a new site. Honestly I have no idea how these ponzi owners can sleep at night knowing that they stole someone's money. I know I can't sleep if I forgot to pay back a friend a day later than I should've, never mind robbing tens of hundreds of people out of their own btc!

Idk, in reality these ponzis could be successful. The admin, just like honest doublers admin, could've invested his own money into his system and made really good profit. Most ponzi owners could make a lot of money by keeping their systems up, in fact more money than if they tear it down, but they're not willing to work hard so they have to shut it down and do the morally, and economically, wrong thing to do.

That's true of course...in fact coinbooster was pretty good at the beggining but i think that sifter was a bit too much greedy and he wanted to get some fast money because all those high roi leveles were't necessary and every update/promotion was another "game" breaking.

Oh nice...so buying something that gives you 25m satoshi in less than 10 hours(for 28 days) for a price of 20m(if i remember correctly) wasn't a bit suspicious?

Welcome to the hyip/investment games world then and remember that none will make you rich in exchange of nothing  Wink

Dont blame the site for your stupidity. Read the forum posts first before investing. Even on the first page i've already posted to not invest. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1201371.msg12612190#msg12612190
