I'm happy to announce that Bitcoin-Central now features a GBP market in addition to the EUR market. Intersango and MtGox are not accepting incoming GBP wires to their UK bank accounts due to these accounts being closed/frozen by their respective banks. Additionnally Intersango appears to be going belly up, they are not even accepting new registrations anymore due to their team not being able to work full-time on the service. In this context, we at Paymium, felt that it would be a good opportunity to provide the Bitcoin community with an alternative GBP market. All our fees are lower than both MtGox and Intersango : - Fund your account with a GBP wire : FREE - Withdraw with a GBP bank wire to a UK bank account : 0.99 GBP - Trade fee : 0.498% (special deals may be available to liquidity providers) Bitcoin-Central proudly provides the community with an advanced, secure and open-source platform since december 2010.

Great to see.
The depth chart will start working once there are a couple of bids/asks.

Just to verify, the BTC/PGAU market is no longer? Also, looking at the Fees page, I see the LRUSD and LREUR deposit and withdrawal methods are still both supported. So if I sell BTC on the BTC/GBP market and end up with GBPs, can I then withdraw those funds as LRUSD (after some conversion, presumably)? I also see referenced on that Fees page how Mt. Gox redeemable codes may be redeemed for credit at Bitcoin-Central (and issued, for a fee). But the deposit and withdrawal pages reference only a Bitcoin-Central redeemable code. Is the help page wrong?

Yes, but we've yet to decide whether they are going to be on separate markets like they used to, or merged within their respective fiat markets. So if I sell BTC on the BTC/GBP market and end up with GBPs, can I then withdraw those funds as LRUSD (after some conversion, presumably)?
No. However we plan on rolling-out a multi-currency trading engine quite soon. That would that your USD ask orders could execute against GBP bids. I also see referenced on that Fees page how Mt. Gox redeemable codes may be redeemed for credit at Bitcoin-Central (and issued, for a fee). But the deposit and withdrawal pages reference only a Bitcoin-Central redeemable code. The feature exists, it just hasn't been rolled-out yet. It's coming soon

How do I make a GBP deposit? I signed up and switched the currency to GBP, but I only see the french bank on the deposit screen.

They have an account at a french bank denominated in GBP. They do not have an account in the UK.

I just tried to withdraw 60-ish GBP to a UK bank account and apparently there's now a 20 EUR fee to do this. It appears I needed to be more paranoid about reading the small print - the reasonable fees for SEPA withdrawals only apply to EUR and everything else has a 20 EUR minimum withdrawal fee! I suppose at least they e-mailed me about this, but I'm going to lose a fair bit to the awful spread on the GBP market there, which presumably exists because the only reason to trade there is if you don't realise how expensive the fees are.

You have to understand:the 20 € fee is imposed by the bank, not BC. BC is only charging what the bank is charging. It seems that a SEPA wire is free of charge only if it is denominated in EURO; Otherwise the banks have it their way. Until the situation changes, it's advisable to not send or withdraw GBP in small amounts. The best option is still to convert GBP to EURO before making the deposit.

Is it possible to use a service like TransferWise to convert GBP from a UK account to Euro and have it sent onto the exchange? This would make the fees very low.

That's right: some bitcoiners from the UK use Transferwise and this service seems to deliver fast transfer while avoiding the bank fees.
