Hi guys, I was just wondering where I can start learning about and start using a trading bot. The exchanges I use are Bitstamp, BTCe, Poloniex, Cryptsy and Bittrex, but may use others if the volume of a coin is better in another exchange. I honestly have not used a trading bot. I only use the exchanges' built in stop-loss feature and that's about it as every time I trade I make sure I am on the screen at all times. But since the markets are boring lately, I might as well learn something new about trading (can't seem to stop thinking about it). So, yeah... I guess using a trading bot would be an interesting thing to learn. Can you guys post some links or threads/topics that will help me get me started? Tyty!

Well I've heard Haasbot is one of the best trading bots out there. It looks like their site has some pretty good documentation on how to use the bot and how to trade.

I had the same question and never had asked it. Thanks for sharing that link to the trading bot...
Is it difficult to learn its usage?

I would recommend not to trade with trading bots you can have signal provider facility. you see market does not work on certain algorithm it is a mass of buyer and sellers so u can't beat the market with an algorithm.

Well it seems to be very popular and I think it is one of the most reputable trading bots out there. If you are really paranoid, I guess then don't use it. Here is their official thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=211979.0

I really don't think trading bot's are a good idea unless you're trying to be a market maker. Then in that case, that's an even worse idea because the capital requirement would be huge.

i searched for trading bots a while ago, and here is what i found out: - nobody is going to help you when it comes to bots. they either don't know or they will not share
- the not-open-source bots have good features but can't be trusted. at least i am not comfortable trusting them with my money. not only because they might steel but also the code might be buggy and leads to losses.
- the open-source bots are crappy and are all abandoned projects
- the only option which is good IMO is making a bot on your own
i have my own bot written in c#

Plus you can have all updates with time I was always thinking that people that write very good bots will just keep the for themselves. I mean rally good ones, not the crappy ones. Because I was always going with the reasoning, why would you write a good bot and then sell it thus creating yourself big competition. I mean exchanges are very, limited they are not 100s of them. I might be wrong, but I don't believe in good bots that one can buy!

Plus you can have all updates with time Since haasonline bot is not free, I would like to recommend you Qt Bitcoin Trader, it is free crossplatform open-source automated trading tool with alot of trading commands and programable trading rules, working via API with main exchanges (BTC-e, Bitstamp, BTCChina, Bitfinex, GOC.io, Indacoin, Bitcurex, BitMarket.pl).

I might be wrong, but I don't believe in good bots that one can buy! Open-source, closed source, free and paid. It does not really matter because you need to look the type of bot. All algo-bots and scripts bots are based on 1 algorithm and you are fully right about those. Why sell a "golden" formula if it works? It does not make sense, so think twice about those. I do not say they are not working, just that i personally do not believe in them because of the same reasons. If you look to the different type of bots like for example the Qt Bitcoin Trader and of course the Haasbot then you can see they appouch things differently. The event configuration or specific configuration are making them unique in the trades and thats why those do work. Same goes for Metatrader, Plus500 and so on. They serve the common trading market and they all approuch this with the "unique making" way. And because those are around for much longer its wise to reflect upon them. At least, thats whats i do.

Thanks for a thorough explanation. I always thought that this is all the same and that there is no difference between the bots. I also always believed that Plus500 is just a commercial trader/bot that is being offered to the masses just to steal the money away from them. I guess I didn't have clue about bots. From you post I see that this is definitely something worth looking at!

Well I've heard Haasbot is one of the best trading bots out there. It looks like their site has some pretty good documentation on how to use the bot and how to trade. I've used Haasbot off and on. It takes some configuring but there are a lot of guides out there and communities dedicated to sharing their configs and strategies. There aren't any "set and forget" type solutions that i know of, you still have to keep an eye on them and adjust accordingly.

That is true. Even after analyze data and buy also many traders lost the money so I don't believe on these technical bots. Unless you use bot only to buy and sell at your predefined values then should be ok because sometimes we can't online when price reaches your preferred value. Otherwise I don't like to use bots to decide when to buy and sell.
