Hey guys, recently I have noticed a few problems with my pc. Probably nothing big, though.

I'd just like reassurance.

I've only noticed this recently.

When I boot up my computer, everything is silent. But I start playing a FPS like Dirty Bomb, my pc starts to whir. The problem is, after I close Dirty Bomb, my pc still whirs. I set my DB to use 4 gigs of ram, but after I close it, the app shuts down, but 4 gigs is still being used, but on "System". This continues for about 10-30 minutes, until things settle down again.

I was wondering, because i've been installing a few btc miners lately and dont know if I have a btc mining trojan. If my pc was infiltrated, and someone was using it to mine, what app would it show up in task manager as? "System"? Or some other app?

Or is it Dirty Bomb?

Or is it just Windows 10?

After you close that app, do you still have the CPU going full speed at 100%? It's probably just the game...

Have you scanned your computer and the miners you've been installing?

Its certainly odd behaviour, but I also have no experience with Win10.

At first I would gather more information, e.g. install HWMonitor and observe GPU/CPU usage over time. If you have 2nd monitor you can open it there and check every few minutes while you play. As I understood you the odd part is that the system is still under load when you stopped playing. Do you have similar issues with other (steam) games?

Memory is tricky and just because you close a programm does not mean the memory is instantly deleted. Its more likely that there is still most of the programm in memory until another programm is requesting the space. At least thats common OS behaviour and I dont think Win10 does this differently. It might just show it differently that e.g. Win8 or 7 and do it more like linux does.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

I think you have virus on your pc. Try to scan with any antivirus or antispyware software program. If you still continue with same problem reinstall your windows.

I haven't checked completely,  but i restarted my computer, and i've been on for almost 2 hours now, and System is only using 8 mbs of memory. It only acts up after i've been playing dirty bomb.

The miners i have installed are:

Claymore's GPU miner
GUIminer-scrypt
Minergate

even if i have a mining Trojan, i find i wierd that it only works when i play a steam game Sad

I think i've cracked it. Or part of it. I looked around, and found this.

I tried the "disable runtime broker", and it works!

It doesnt jump up anymore, my system is at a strady 13-30 mbs. Should it be like that, or in the 0.5-5's?

use windows 8 instead, as my opinion.

out of ability to use the signature, i want a new ban strike policy that will fade the strike after 90~120 days of the ban and not to be traced back, like google | email me for anything urgent, message will possibly not be instantly responded
i am not really active for some reason

Be sure to double check that you have the latest drivers for Windows 10 installed for all of your stuff. I forgot to update the Audio drivers and was getting a strange crash issue when resuming from sleep that was fixed after updating the driver.

A few mb of ram are certainly fine, considering the replies here its probably best to close the thread if you consider the problem solved.
