What happens on testnet when the production block reward halves?

Are there separate rules that govern reward halving on testnet?

Same as Bitcoin.

If someone has a prerelease ASIC miner at 60GH it should only take 5 HR or so to push testnet3 to the halving if using a little time warping. I think this would be a fun test and I'd be glad to help with it.

That would be a cool test! It would also allow anyone with block reward dependent code to test it prior to the production halving.

Anyone have some spare testnet coins? Apparently the faucet is down.

Also, if anyone knows of any public testnet nodes I can connect to, that would be great. I can't seem to connect to any automatically.
