Next week, the U.S. Supreme Court will decide whether you have the right to sell your stuff on eBay. Do you really own the smartphone or computer you’re using to read this? If you sold your books, would you be breaking the law? A federal court in New York says you would be, even if you legally paid for and bought them.

It's unbelievable, but trademark and copyright holders are trying to use a legal loophole to take away your right to sell things that you own. The mainstream media is starting to catch on, with the Wall Street Journal just running an article headlined, "YOUR RIGHT TO RESELL YOUR OWN STUFF IS IN PERIL".

"All safe deposit boxes in banks or financial institutions have been sealed... and may only be opened in the presence of an agent of the I.R.S." - President F.D. Roosevelt, 1933
Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

Even worse... if they do uphold the extreme copyright holders interest in this case they will be encouraging MORE jobs to be shipped overseas.  First sale doctrine applies to US made items either way.  If this goes with the copyright holder interest it will give them power over items made overseas but not made here.  So if you make the book/car/video game overseas you can control it even after the first sale.  Copyright holders will have a huge incentive to make items overseas.  After the citizens united ruling I do not have much hope that the Supreme Court will do the right thing.

Well keep in mind you did not build that according to our government.  So I guess I did not earn that and so nothing is mine and everyone owns nothing.  Sounds like a free for all coming up soon that or a mass exodus for those who can go.

Oh please, lawmakers can bluff all they like, if the so called anti-piracy laws are anything to go by these laws cannot be enforced, I'm going to laugh if police actually bother trying to take away the stuff, it'll be like watching the Greece riots where there are several hundred thousand people surrounding a few officers with truncheons.
