The time of the genesis block, which is: 18:15:05 03.01.2009. We're nearing our 7th year.

Jan 3rd 2009.
That would be some milestone.
I knew it was in 2009 sometime but didn't know it was so close. Less than 2.75 months away from 7 years old.
I will be ringing in the New year and have a glass of champagne for bitcoin.

The whitepaper was published on Nov 1st, 2008. The genesis block was Jan. 3rd, 2009. And the first transaction for an actual good was May 22nd, 2010. Really, any of those could be the birthday.

Wow, 7 years in two and a half months! Bitcoin is getting pretty mature here! Working flawlessly for 7 years is a great achievement! There you go all the no-sayers!

I wouldn't say flawlessly, we've had a large number of problems before. But it sure has been working great and going strong.

This is a fun topic.  I wonder if bitcoiners will start to celebrate 3 January as a kind of holiday.  What will it be called?  "bitcoin day"  "satoshi day"  "genesis block day"?

Perhaps. But apparently May 22nd is already being called "Bitcoin pizza day" for the first transaction for real goods ever with Bitcoin.

I know that some people celebrated the 5th anniversary of the whitepaper (I even got a coin for that), but I don't know about any Genesis block parties/celebrations/etc.
