The first reason which make the people to not use bitcoin is because they don't know it. Is yet very little the percentage of the people who know it. Second, they who know it and don't use it make this because they believe that the price of bitcoin will go high or very high in the future. So don't worth to use it for small or everyday needs for the everyday life. Me myself thinks like the lasts. I see the use of bitcoin to buy irrelevant things (or even relevant ones) in internet with bitcoin as a waste of it. I have other money to use in such kind of occasions: why use bitcoin?

I think the only thing that stop people from using bitcoin is the ponzi/scam sites because other people believed that the ponzi will last forever but they didn't know that the site is a scam.

I think bitcoin is actually more secure than a lot of other payment gateways. Rather, I think it's the bad image that has been cast over what bitcoin is used for that is creating doubts over the public about the morality of bitcoin.
For example, bitcoin is used for buying drugs. The public thinks that is all bitcoin is used for, and therefore they don't use it because they think it's illegal.

People want to see the physical form of bitcoin, if it holds physical image then majority of people will start accepting and using it in future.
I dont think that is ever possible bitcoin will never get physical form and that is the reason its different from other currencies, when people will be aware about bitcoin they will start using it. Exactly. Bitcoin don't need to become physical, but that's the thing with human pshychology. We want to feel it. I would feel 100 times happier if i hold my 100k$ in my hands rather than see the balance in bank's website. I don't know why, it is like prozac to my brain. |

I think bitcoin is actually more secure than a lot of other payment gateways. Rather, I think it's the bad image that has been cast over what bitcoin is used for that is creating doubts over the public about the morality of bitcoin.
For example, bitcoin is used for buying drugs. The public thinks that is all bitcoin is used for, and therefore they don't use it because they think it's illegal.
i agree. sadly the media has always been mostly against bitcoin especially whenever it is in their favor and most of the time they are just spreading the negative news because it is hot. and this negative publicity is one of the biggest obstacles in front of bitcoin. |
Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Yeah that's one of the reason for sure the people stops to use bitcoin, because they got victimized by those scamming sites and investment schemes. Maybe their hard earned bitcoins was risked their and the site ran away from them. Of course, it hurts their feeling and after that they hated and stop using bitcoins, that's what I assume. |

That's true and I'm one of them, when I was still a newbie in bitcoin and still I'm not in this bitcoin, I tried to invest in one of the hyip that I know. Only one time I get profit there and after re-investing, since I'm newbie I don't know that hyip are scams, so I trusted them. But when, I'm trying to cash out my money , worst part happens. The site ran away, but after that I became a stronger person in bitcoin and I use to fight now against hyips/ponzis so that other people will not experience what I've experience. |

Mostly that or they simply don't understand how to use Bitcoin and are not interested into learning about this wonderful new technology and what benefits it might have for them. Negative news about Bitcoin and especially the correlation between the deepweb illegal markets and Bitcoin being the major payment method there could make some people believe that Bitcoin is primarily used for buying drugs, guns and whatnot while the truth is far from that. I have also met people who believe that Bitcoin is fake money created over the Internet. I think the biggest stopping points are negativity and ignorance of people. |

i agree. sadly the media has always been mostly against bitcoin especially whenever it is in their favor and most of the time they are just spreading the negative news because it is hot. and this negative publicity is one of the biggest obstacles in front of bitcoin. may be in your area but in our area. not a single electronic media is doing so. I never heare news about bitcoin on electronic media or on print meidia. they are still silent or may be do not know about bitcoin. |

I believe just due to the fluctuation happening people hesitate to believe whether it lasts for a long time. agreed! scammers can be avoided with enough precaution, but the fluctuation is really worrisome, bitcoin may be rising right now but investors are not looking at the price but on the fluctuation that is happening. |

what are the rules regarding escrows? and how safe are they on this forum? i have seen the "big 3" and honestly they look trustworthy, any advice you could give regarding transactions? i have lot's of years in me spent on hf and such so i'm not an idiot, but still rules are always a little different...

Most of my friends don't know about it. I first heard of bitcoin when Backpage stopped taking cc's. It's confusing and the price changes don't help. I think if a big stores like Amazon, Target, or Walmart took a risk on it, it could grow in popularity.

People think getting bitcoins is waste of money and time. Bitcoin is not useful for financial transactions unless it is used as a currency in the form of BTC. Most people don't have any Bitcoin, and getting them is a time consuming hassle. |
