Well acceptance of merchants is really one of the reason why people stops from using bitcoin.
Why people are going to use bitcoin there are only few merchants that accepts it.
And the merchants that are accepting it are far from them.

Yes, we can say that the main cause of non-proliferation is Bitcoin and lack of knowledge. People simply do not know and have not heard anything about Bitcoin, and if they heard, they simply have no place to use it. To this day, Bitcoin is mainly being used as a vehicle for investment, savings or speculation.
It is necessary to disseminate information about Bitcoin, press conferences and the like.

Yes by far too many merchants are ignoring bitcoin. It's mainly speculation for what bitcoin is used. That's why I prefer to hold my coins.

Yes, PONZI company gave BITCOIN a bad impression specially to those who have not heard of BITCOIN yet.  For example, here in my country there are lot of PONZI MLM company that prey on the people who does not know anything about BITCOIN.  Funny, they even claim that they are the pioneers of BLOCKCHAIN.  I was like wth LOL.  Then after sometime this company shut down with their investors money.  So whenever someone heard about BITCOIN they think automatically that it is a SCAM company.  Pretty much misconception and deception are stopping people from using BTC.

For the general public which are new into bitcoin they are faced with 2 very big problems.
First there are the ponzi sites, then there are the scammers. It's a hard world for them.

Suspicion, doubts..they are just not ready to try something new. I had problems to show to people that we can see that money and use it in real world. They thought its a waste of time and energy to gather coins, work for them and later use it to make it more.
I think most of people don`t find bitcoin enough safe for them to invest money, price is not stable, constant fluctuations, and that is probably one one of main reasons why bitcoin didn`t become mainstream yet. I think that will change in next couple years, its not something that happen fast.
Also one of the reasons is ignorance, they just don`t know, and they don`t wish to give chance to btc. I expect many things to change in this way, we can expect many new people to join into btc community after this halving. I just hope it will happen sooner.

I think all you mentioned also happens in all currencies are already first appeared before the bitcoin, so it is actually the same problem with other currencies. That makes the bitcoin became more superior truth, jaya and a uniqueness bitcoin. And I think everyone already knows well about the bitcoin will never stop using it, only stupid people who stop using bitcoin!!

None of the things I mentioned happen with fiat.

Fiat is easy to use. You can get it anywhere, like a gas station, grocery store, convenience store, bank atm and once I got cash back from a public library while paying a book fine.

Fiat has 1/1,000,000 the volatility of Bitcoin.

You never see someone blaming fiat for a Silk Road or other type crimes. Bad press is a lot more important than people think. The only people that are drawn to illegal, immoral or taboo things are stupid kids and they don't have much money to invest so they can't help Bitcoin grow.

People don't trust the exchanges after the mountains of bad press over the Mt Gox incident as well as others. If you can't trust buying Bitcoin you can't use Bitcoin.

People hold a fiat bill in their hands. Bitcoins seem too intangible for them. They understand protecting themselves from robbery (don't hang out in bad neighborhoods, don't carry much cash around). They don't understand how to protect their money from hackers and don't understand why they should. They know if their money is stolen from a bank then fraud protections will keep them from much loss. Bitcoin banks are the exchanges that also steal from people themselves so they can't even trust the "Bitcoin Banks".

Bitcoin will never achieve anything more than being a trendy, edgy, cool technology for young hipsters until it solves problems that it's completely incapable of solving.

instabilities become the most important point. bitcoin is designed like that. bitcoin digital currency is difficult to predict. only those who dare to take a decision which will be used bitcoin.

I think there are some people who do't like the prices as stable as possible some of them are a trader and I know. because if bitcoin prices stable will give effect to their income. probably will be reduced because of the price to be stable. yeah maybe they quit because of that?

I agree with that. Hackers and hacking methods have been scattered all over the internet so it is one reason to reject this currency for you dont know when it could happen.

Ponzi's are not really a good way in investing because you will just end up getting scammed. And for sure why many people are stopping from using bitcoin is that they failed in investment in hyip's.
Because of the frustration they have experienced they will just turn to stop using bitcoin.

Yes we can't remove that kind of reason why people are stopping from using bitcoin is that they are frightened to get hacked and scammed by people.
Hacking is very possible because it is an online currency, but with scamming it is a negligence of the user if he doesn't get to know what he is investing for his bitcoin.

Maybe they don't use it sometimes because of the double spend thing, I had a friend who was scammed earlier by some exchange who send him funds that were double spent. Maybe that is a reason for most ?
