the rise of btc-usd is unexpected, i havent heard or read any explanation or reason whats behind the unexpected increase so better be on the safe side and dont stack up if thats your plan, next weeks rate maybe another story |

Not really .This is a huge risk to take .Probably wait for a couple of days and see the accurate stats ,if its rising then probably on the third day you're ready to buy them.

Usually such pumps end near $300 and are followed by a dump to 220 or 230. It happened a couple of times this year
I would buy now and panic sell near 290

I said it before and I will say it again , I don't see anything causing the price increase but a simple exchange manipulation . Also how you want to buy if the price is increasing , you had to buy when it was 230$ or something and not now , I don't think Bitcoin will ever go back to under 200$ . |

It's not as easy as to sell when everybody is buying. Right now I don't think anybody is selling, they are holding since the rise is steady and it's not worth to do that. I think this is a good time to buy Bitcoin (I've bought at $230). But that's only if you think this is worthy medium or long term. I don't see a sudden spike to $1000 anytime soon, but it could be a possibility for 2020, even more. On the other hand, we all know Bitcoin could also be worthless in 5 years.

Don't be a sheep. this is true long term, but for short term trends the sweetest buy point is at the beginning of a sharp uptrend. I have no idea if it is, but buying at $265 makes perfect sense if it is about to do a +50-1000% run. For example, in mid Jan 2013 it already went up 30% from $12 to $15, nevertheless it was a very good buy place because it was at the very bottom of a very steep rise to $250 and eventually to $1160. |

people should have bought when the price was around $220. when the price is going up you are better off waiting or selling. not buying.

If you followed your advice with most dead altcoins, you would have nothing instead of something at this point. And you would lose the 2013 bubble because when the price doubled everyone was buying, and the price increased by 10x of pre bubble value. It is not a rule written in stone |

Well they say great traders sell when it's going up not at the very peak...so selling now sort of makes sense in that way. It depends on each case, many people are just speculating with Bitcoin in the short term, if they bought a good amount at $220 and they sell at $260 I can't say that's a bad trade...

It could very well be, but i doubt it. Remember that bitcoin was trading at over 1200 USD a piece, and the downslide was really intense, so there's little chance that bitcoin price won't pick up again in time. Services and community is rising, and so does the industry, so the only question is when we will go back to 4 figure prices.. |

I was always saying that everything under $250 is a very good price to get in at. This groundbreaking technology has so much potential that is really worth of risking some amount of money and giving this thing a shot in the next 3 years.
Now, we must get out of this depression cycle sooner or later. I hope that this time has finally come. Maybe this is even a beginning of the reaction on the upcoming halving, I don't know, but something is pushing the price up. Maybe Gemini and all the institutional money that finally had a sign to get in.
We'll see in a few days!
