i claim Urban Myth.  even at $.01/BTC that equals $100 for that pizza.  who would pay this?  was BTC ever that cheap?  if its true, have that man step forward.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Yea, I honestly think this was a kind of critical moment for the bitcoin economy, and it would have struggled far more than it did without some kind of transaction like this.  It's almost as if laszlo "sacrificed" himself for our future survival...

I'll go out on a limb and say that anyone wouldn't trade their life's savings for a pizza.  So if he offered 10,000, I'm sure he had 50,000 or more on hand.
