Welcome to my new daring project!

Information:

  • I will ride my bicycle 1 mile(1,6km) for each 0.4 BTC donated.
  • If/when the distance is above 40 miles(64,3km), I will do ½ mile/0.4 BTC
  • The date of takeoff is set to 1/8/2011
  • Wallet is stored on an USB-stick with Truecrypt encryption
  • The money will be used to travel around Europe, buying beer and partying. So you know you've done a good deed!

Why am i doing this?
Well, I'm the kind of guy who likes to push things to the very limit. I've thought about just taking my bike and just go, straight forward. No
destination.
But I'm also very lazy Wink However, with the thought of getting payd(also, I love the $$$ Wink ) and people cheering for me, I know I will have the strength to
do this!

Donate to this adress: 1PDaGZofW4KZTfiawZVLpkuXikrnFZRYui

Help needed!
  • I need help with setting up a webpage where you can see how much has been donated.
  • I plan on using Instamapper(http://www.instamapper.com/) to track my location with an iPhone. There is possible to implent an API to a website.
  • How to compensate for the rising BTC and still be able to count distance.

Priority #1 is to get the website up and running with the donation amount and some information.

F.A.Q

Q: Where is this going to happen?
A:
I will start in Stockholm, Sweden

Q: So, where are you going?
A:
As i mentioned, there is no destination. I will spinn a bottle or something to decide direction

Q: Are you an athlete?
A:
Absolutly, not! I'm too lazy to workout and to watch my health

Q: You are super cool! What kind of bike will you be using?
A:
At the moment, I don't have a racer. All i have is a dirtbike and a cruiser. Somehow I will get a decent bike Smiley

Received donations: 1.2 BTC

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

...

Usually people accept pledges/donations for biking/running/excercies because the athlete really cares about a cause (cancer, leukemia, etc..) and is willing to donate all of his or her donations towards that cause... not because some bum wants to get drunk and party across europe..?

Mind = blown.

Although I think this is a good idea, I don't want to donate personally.

I think the missed point is he will only be spending Bitcoins on this trip

the cause is Bitcoins

or are you just out to have fun, and will be exchangeing the BTC to EUR in your bank.

I'll do similar, but in my car. and with android
 10 btc/day  upto 400 mi/day

waiting for someone else to fly / boat trip.

Anyone ever had a $500 hamburger, They're the great.
would love to have tried some of that 14k BTC Pizza

Its different with a car since its not the same effort, right?
And yeah, I do this for fun and the money inspires me to do it.

wut???
A week. And you do this on a daily basis. I never get this kind of exercise and my friends can confirm that for you if you want to...

If you don't like what I'm doing here. Please don't flame... I never have something to look forward to and my days are always the same. This kind of project really fires me up. If you guys want, i could lower the price per mile

Are you going to ride the bike shirtless? I want to know what you'd do that's unique, maybe with a bitcoin logo painted on your back?

Acutally I'm not sure what the point of this is  Huh

the effort went into the car years ago.  actually its not paid off, so the effort is still going in.
