There are certainly a lot of casino users that actively use bitcoin at the moment.
I think this is where people end up using it for after a while. The temptation is enormous to multiple your bits when you can't determine an actual value of it. One minute is it is worth $0.02 the next it is worth $0.05.

Who really uses bitcoin? and for you Who is the typical bitcoin user? Who doesn't use it? and why does it matter?
I think everyone can use Bitcoin, i don't believe about existing "typical" bitcoin users, of course there is some people interested a little more than others about cryptocurrencies, i think they are a while using bitcoin more than others, but it's not general because we see many ppl just use btc to purchase goods and services or pay some fees, without really being interested about the cryptocurrencies world

For me I think its true since bitcoin is hard to trace and criminals will definitely love that feature specially on crimes online It is true that there are lots of criminals that love bitcoins but there are more and more legitimate businesses popping up.

That's why the legal status of bitcoin varies from country to country and is still undefined because of that illegitimate use of bitcoin. Monitoring the possibility of bitcoin usage in money laundering and other illegal purposes are really the first priority by them rather than the benefits of bitcoin is. This is the reason why regulating bitcoin in some Central Bank per country is not yet present at the moment.

With " Who really uses Bitcoin" I think OP meant real Bitcoin usage as in purchasing stuff, using Bitcoin to send and receive money, etc. And not really investing in it and holding coins.
