Hey what's up kabayan. What do you think of the progress of bitcoin now here in our country this year? Here are some of the questions showed to PH bitcoin experts in the last quarter of year 2014 about where is Bitcoin headed in our country for 2015: -How big will the Bitcoin community be in the Philippines?
-Will it still be composed of early adopters or will a larger base of Filipinos be using it?
-How many merchants will accept the cryptocurrency? In which types of industries?
-Do you see any celebrities endorsing Bitcoin? Will it gain critical mass in the Philippines once this happens?
-Will we see larger infusions of venture capital into the space?
-Do you think there will be more Philippine Bitcoin companies or will the competition consolidate into a few major players? We are in the last quarter of the year now and maybe some of the questions there from 2014 are much answerable now. What's your opinion? Read the PH bitcoin experts says here and see if some of it happened.Source : Techniasia

It's nice to see that coins.ph CEO has a prediction about what will bitcoin will be in the PH for 2015. I thought he is silent. Ron Hose, founder and CEO of Coins.ph: By 2015, the Philippines will be widely recognised as one of the leading markets for Bitcoin worldwide, and as a template for how digital currency can be used to drive financial inclusion, lifting people who are currently excluded from using traditional banking. In the Philippines, Bitcoin solves a real problem for customers.

Well I think 2015 is a very good year for the bitcoin community in our country. Bitcoin is slowly being noticed by some people all over the country, I even notice some that has interest from my province, though their interest is not that deep, probably because of the lack of knowledge, it's still nice to know that a lot of people have an idea about bitcoin.
-How big will the Bitcoin community be in the Philippines? I was hoping that it could spread out to each and every person who uses the net but then, I think only those who go deeper than the social media will be inclined to bitcoin.
Will it still be composed of early adopters or will a larger base of Filipinos be using it? I think it will be a majority of those early adopters and a few more newbies. I see a lot of people in facebook that take bitcoin as a way to earn online so I think those people will grab the opportunity to earn free money online.
How many merchants will accept the cryptocurrency? In which types of industries? I really don't have any idea yet I only know the merchants listed on the coins.ph that acxepts bitcoin. I hope a lot more establishment will consider adapting bitcoin.
Do you see any celebrities endorsing Bitcoin? Will it gain critical mass in the Philippines once this happens? Not really, I don't see a single vit of hint that celebrities does know about bitcoin on the media. Having them endorse bitcoin might help to increase the awareness of people about this, as people these days are really easily get influenced by artist so yea.

Well back in 2014 the progress of bitcoin is on the top chart back then, but I think bitcoin become very low this year, because back then the value of bitcoin reach $600 now it is just mare $260,
-How big will the Bitcoin community be in the Philippines? Everyone with a single knowledge about bitcoin can add up to the community, but I think that very few numbers knows about bitcoin,
-Will it still be composed of early adopters or will a larger base of Filipinos be using it? I think many of us now is reading and some sharing their knowledge about bitcoin, so my opinion is yes their will be a larger numbers of Filipinos will be using it now, that is why ron hose has made coins.ph because he knows that he will gain and a lot of Filipinos will use it and Filipinos using social media and internet to gain profit now.
-How many merchants will accept the cryptocurrency? In which types of industries? There are few that I know, but I wish a lot of fast food chain around the country will use bitcoin.
-Do you see any celebrities endorsing Bitcoin? Will it gain critical mass in the Philippines once this happens? I don't knew any celebs that endorsing bitcoin, but some networking or leverage company did has celebrities, but I think endorsing can gain or increase the awareness of people about bitcoin.
-Will we see larger infusions of venture capital into the space? It will be a double edge sword for some company, As the monetary form evolves from bills to credit and debit cards, Bitcoin makes its way to be one of the fastest and safest way of making payments and transferring funds.
-Do you think there will be more Philippine Bitcoin companies or will the competition consolidate into a few major players? I think the biggest potential for this will be the technological services worldwide and cryptocurrency services.

Nicely done Article by fellow kabayan and to answer some of the questions:
How big will the Bitcoin community be in the Philippines? - Big enough that its making its own wave now much more noticeable than it was a year ago.
Will it still be composed of early adopters or will a larger base of Filipinos be using it? - The early adopters will always be there but its the new adopters rate that are increasing by each day.
How many merchants will accept the cryptocurrency? In which types of industries? - That's still hard to guess as it could really vary...Mostly online sellers of any kind would be the one's to accept cryptocurrencies.
Do you see any celebrities endorsing Bitcoin? Will it gain critical mass in the Philippines once this happens? - I wouldn't be surprised to see one happening as the attention is good if not high.

We now have bitcoin exchanges which offers several services including ways to transfer cash, pay bills, and load users cell phones, all using bitcoin. Also a number of merchants are accepting the currency as payment for goods. Bitcoin ATM machines are now available in some parts of the country so mainstream adoption is steadily rising. If only majority of our overseas workers know how crypto works they could save a lot from remittance center fees.

Good to see that many Filipinos are now getting the vibe of using bitcoins. I know the staff of coins.ph personally and I must say that their exchange is the best there is in the Philippines so far. Also, I was wondering if a bitcoin ATM would be possible in the metros seeing that there is a large user base for bitcoins in Manila. That would probably heighten the interests of our peers.

Well I doubt it will be that easy for everyone to adopt in bitcoin once it hit the media but I think if they have a glimpse of what bitcoin is, it may strike their interest.

There are many articles and news presented by GMA and ABS-CBN so far about bitcoin related news (although most of good news about bitcoin shown by GMA) like opening of coins.ph (yes that's why you can see logo of GMA in coins.ph page), bitcoin news all over the world and some development about bitcoin etc. Even the recent hit Mark Karpeles was reported too by both network. Well all these bitcoin related news are just shown over their respective news page and not reported via national television. Hope we can see our local top anchors reporting bitcoin live.

Well that is just my own perspective on how bitcoin in the future will be, lol but I think that is not the point here, popularity of bitcoin will rises on its own, there are many that I know are tend to seek profit online and did come across about what is bitcoin. The thing is, people in our country (well most of them) see bitcoin as some kind of tool where they could get easy money from. I know a lot of people that adapts to bitcoin mainly because they notice how easy it is to profit from all the ponzi/hyip that surrounds the image of bitcoin in our country. Only a few bitcoin users in our country axtually has a deeper understanding of what bitcoin is. I find that as one of the reason as why bitcoin will not reach the mainstream any sooner. They use bitcoin without even knowing how bitcoin works. All they care is how easy it is to earn this "bitcoin". If our fellow kabayan will only view bitcoin like that then I don't think bitcoin will be succesful in our country, well not to those who understand what it really is but it will surely help the bitcoin community to spread in our country if people could take a deeper look to bitcoin rather than seeing only the obvious part.
