How can i fix my Kleopatra? I've tried reinsalling and i just get the same error that: the procedure entry point libiconv_set_relocation_prefix could not be located in the dynamic link library iconv.dll. Wich is a kind of error you'd expect to see from a virus ridden nearly broken computer... :s But my machine is fine (yes im sure, As far as i know...)

Im not looking for a workaround, i need a working Kleopatra, Can anyone help?

win764bit

Im attempting to use GPA for all my needs and say "F**k kleo"
Could someone post an Encrpyted message for me to decrypt?

In the GPG4Win package there is another client GPA.  Does it work?  There is also the command line utility gpg2.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\GNU\GnuPG\  Both Kleo and GPA aren't truly GPG clients they are more like GUI frontends that send commands to GPG2.exe behind the scenes.  I would see if you can get gpg2.exe working from the command line as part of your troubleshooting.

Note stored keys are accessible from all clients regardless on which one was used to import/create them.

I don't know a fix for that error but it may keep you operation in the meantime.

Yeah, if a message is encrypted with your own public key, nobody other than yourself will be able to decrypt it. That's kind of the whole point of encryption, after all. Tongue To send messages to other people, you need to encrypt it with their public key.

I get "GPGME library has returned an unexpected error, The error was : General Error" when trying to decrypt the message in the link
There's no encrypted message in that link. It's a public key. Save it, then in GPA click Import and open the file. (Though I'm not sure why GPA didn't do that automatically, as GPG will automatically detect what type of file it's being fed and act accordingly, unless you explicitly tell it to try to do something else - how exactly did you try to open that file?) You can then use this public key to send encrypted messages to me.

Two tries, I wrote a message, Then hit encrypt, Chose your key, And when I try to decrypt it it fails
I was able to successfully decrypt the first message, but the second one is encrypted with a key I don't recognise (key ID: 5B911638F2043B3D). Naturally you won't be able to decrypt it, as you don't have my private key (it would be a pretty major screw-up on my part if you did). When you encrypt a message with somebody's public key, only the person with the corresponding private key will be able to decrypt it. Nobody else can, not even the person who originally composed the message (unless they made a copy of the message before encrypting it).

So, whatever you did with the first message, you did it right. Don't know how you screwed up the second message, though.

Two tries, I wrote a message, Then hit encrypt, Chose your key, And when I try to decrypt it it fails

One quick clarification ... when you encrypt with a public key ONLY the entity with the matching private key can decrypt it.  So what you reported here is working exactly as expected.  So yes that means the person encrypting a message CAN NOT decrypt their own message unless it was encrypted with their public key.  You can select multiple recipients.   Encrypting the message with YOUR and BOB's public keys will ensure EITHER YOUR or BOB's private key can be used to decrypt it.
