I am trying this new concept where I'm just nice to people that are mean to me. It doesn't help to fight fire with fire. I would rather just love you and hold you and have you hold me too than hate you and fight with you all the time. It takes more muscles to frown than to smile, and you get more anxiety from tension rather than no tension at all.

its not a new concept , all religious God's became famous by doing exactly that. it can only prolong the fight IMO. |

yes, off course. If they are not nice to you, they are not the right ppl you should be friends with. In our life, there are always that kind of ppl. But if you are nice to them, I bet most of them would be nice to you.

Most people, if not all, who are willing to be aggressive to others have real issues and usually nobody who is really behind them. Also if you show respect and understanding in scary situations they often just disappear (in my experience).

I agree with what you say. Most of the people will be good to you, if you are good to them. Sometimes they become mean because they want you or challenge you to become more responsible. They want to see if how you'll handle that kind of situation. |

It's not your fault you couldn't tell though. Poe's Law, and whatnot. As for prolonging fights by being nice, well....it kind of depends on the person and how big their pride is, and if they want to end the fight. Most of the time, I like to reveal when I'm feeling threatened or hurt by sometimes lashing back. Sometimes if you bully someone that's bullying you, they stop. Not in all cases though. For how long can we fight though would be my main point. I would rather just love than hate. |
