Shorena went through the forums and made a useful index of links that can help forum users to navigate and find helpful topics in the forum.
Felt it was worth a nomination for pinning so making the meta thread.
(Replaces my Terminology Pin request since an index does the job)

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I am one of those who also think this is worth pinning but where? I think it's more suitable to put it in beginners & help section rather than in Bitcoin discussion as it also have some topics regarding the forum and not just bitcoin itself.

I agree that its suitable in beginners and help as it's an overview, new users will likely see it when they are getting started and learn of topics that interest them right from the start.

On the other hand I can see it fitting under the New to bitcoin start here topic on bitcoin discussion as a fourth sticky determining the location of topics of interest to Bitcoin users.

All in all this is in the purview of the admins to determine where and what section of the forums it most suitably should be placed under.

Yes you should because it won't make much sense if we leave on the Bitcoin Discussion section (newbies don't even go to that section) . The more visible the topic is the better .
Also I agree with OP , this should definitely get sticked .. Still sticked threads aren't always visible for new users , It would be better if we make them with colored titles or something , because we can see on Lending section for example that no one read that sticked topic and all ask for Loan without collateral .

AFAIK the last was the EDU thread in micro earnings when the section was created.

The reason is usually: we cant sticky all the threads, an overview though.... now there is this overview.

-snip-

I will move it to beg. & help. They have a different color, but are still ignored.

Thanks for bumping it I was thinking about doing it myself but I try not to double post.

As dogie said I have not seen something stickied in a while and I also recall it was when the micro-earnings section was made and before that no giveaways which hints at how few stickies get pinned, that said I feel that the overview thread contains more less all topics that deserved a sticky at one point or another, and at the very least its good to have a useful guide around to reference people towards.

Beginners and help makes sense to me without the Pin, in Bitcoin discussion the thread is prone to getting buried a lot so more people will see it in a slower section and maintaining it with bumps while being constructive is a bit less painful absent pinning.
