Find someone willing to exchange BTC for PayPal & reverse the transaction, BTC at zero cost to you.

CURRENTLY, what is the cheapest way to get BTC?

The factors relevant to providing the right answer to that include:

 - Where are you located (country)?
 - How much are you looking to buy?
 - What payment methods do you have available?
 - How soon do you need access to the proceeds?
 - Is privacy important?

A bank transfer is going to be the cheapest method.

In the U.S. you can buy bitcoins at a 1% fee through Coinbase using a bank transfer.  The problem there is that they are limiting that to $100 maximum (for now, while they test their algorithms) and that you don't get the coins until the funds transfer is complete (at least two business days).  But you do get to lock in the price immediately.

Dwolla is another inexpensive method to move cash from your bank account to a Bitcoin exchange.   The problem with that again is the amount of time involved.  But the price is right ... $0.25 per transaction.

A cash deposit method can also be inexpensive.  BitMe.com doesn't charge for cash deposits.  The problem there is they don't have enough sellers at near market price, so you end up overpaying a little when buying coins.  That will change hopefully as more sellers trust them but for now that's the limitation:

Bitcoins Direct will accept cash, with no fee, but they have a $500 minimum order size.  Also, they are temporarily offline while the part of their business which supplies their coins, FastCash4Bitcoins.com, undergoes a redesign:
 - http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=87094.0 (Deposit cash at Bank of America, Wells Fargo or PNC, minimum $500)

Or you might find a local trade (paying cash):

Or if you are considering a bank transfer, there all kinds of options are available:

Start a fake company that is going to release an ASIC 'soon' and offer pre-orders though bitcoin.
Be sure to post non-relevant and photoshopped pictures of electronics, as well as bogus stat tables that don't make any sense to any sane electronics-savvy person to convince people.

Watch the preorders flow in.

You forgot to tell them to increase the advertised speeds of the asics by 50% when people start questioning your legitimacy

Thanks Stephen Gornick.

I have the funds in my PayPal account, and bank account. I can get cash instantly from either, or move the PayPal funds to my bank account. I am dealing with very low margins, so I'm trying to keep the cost down but still transact in BitCoins when possible. Bitfloor is where I would have gone... Or possibly bitinstant... But it seems something has happened with both.

I've thought about looking locally. I've also considered buying silver with cash and selling the silver for BTC. I can get silver slightly below spot, and people seem to be willing to pay slightly more than spot to someone who accepts BTC for it.

I am dealing with very low margins, so I'm trying to keep the cost down but still transact in BitCoins when possible.

Then Dwolla to Mt. Gox is likely the cheapest method to get coins.

Coinbase is pretty close, surprisingly -- you can lock in the rate right away too.

If you know someone who has BTC you can use our mobile checkout to get them to swap anything for Bitcoins.

https://walletbit.com/press/walletbit-releases-pos-mobile-checkout-for-bitcoin

Step 1 - Find a friend with Bitcoins
Step 2 - Find something they want to buy
Step 3 - Pay for it with cash or credit
Step 4 - Enter payment details into our mobile checkout
Step 5 - Have your friend pay the equivalent amount

Now you have just bought yourself some Bitcoins for 0.89% and your friend has just bought something with their Bitcoins.

CURRENTLY, what is the cheapest way to get BTC?

Become a prostitute and charge in bitcoins, you cannot get any cheaper than selling your self respect.

CURRENTLY, what is the cheapest way to get BTC?

I have found that I can trade silver for BTC using the non-modified market values. This means that I pay 0% premium on the market price of bitcoins vs the market price of my silver.

You can even get the buyer to pay a reasonable shipping charge.

If you don't already own silver then this will not work.

The cheapest way I know is to put ur BTC address in ur signature and start a thread with such a question.

Lol... Thanks! I was trying to figure out where that came from. I had it labeled as something completely wrong in my address book, and had to google my own address to figure out it was in my signature. I was thinking it was related to the NetFlix scam where I lost 1 BTC.

I have to admit, it was absolutely the cheapest BTC I have ever acquired.
