Bitinstant

I was going to use MtGox, but is Bitstamp reliable and quick (couple hours) to transfer cash from a location like CVS using bitinsrant to bitstamp which can be sent to an ewallet?  Bitstamp is similar to mtgox correct?  Thanks!
